HOT SPRINGS WATERFALL IN GUATEMALA! - Finca El Paraiso, Rio Dulce - Guatemala Series | Episode 16
Hey guys! Today I'm heading over to Finca El Paraiso in Izabel, Guatemala, very close to the larger city of Rio Dulce on the Rio Dulce River! This is a must do when visiting Rio Dulce, since it's only a 30 minutes to 1 hour shuttle ride away that costs just over a dollar to ride each way. The hike in is along a beautiful turquoise stream, and the hot springs waterfall is an experience you won't forget anytime soon. I really enjoyed my experience at Finca El Paraiso, and if you're ever in the area, I guaraentee you will too! Thanks so much for watching Pikey's, and you can expect weekly uploads on WEDNESDAYS from here on out! This is a schedule that won't be too demanding of me, but will also allow me to continue keeping my hand at play on YouTube, one of my favorite things in the world! Take care Pikey's, and I'll see you next Wednesday back in Antigua, Guatemala! Yew!!

Hot Springs Waterfall Jump - El Estor - Rio Dulce, Guatemala
Finca Paraiso 2 - The Waterfall
Thermal springs at Finca Paraiso form a steaming hot waterfall that empties into a cold mountain stream. Freshwater tropical fish swim in the pool formed. People, too.
The guides from the local villages are friendly and helpful, watching over your things, and keeping the area clean. If the opportunity is right, they'll lead you on a climb and a short hike down the trails to the source of the springs, where the hot sulfurous water boils out of the ground. Tip them well, as it helps support a local economy that has few other resources.

Guatemala: Rio Dulce Boqueron Canyon and Thermal Waterfall
On our last day in Rio Dulce, we joined our new Canadian friends to catch a collectivo from town out to a thermal hotsprings waterfall and then on to a flooded river canyon where we fought our way up the current to find a set of steps up to a remote Mayan village. It was hot and crowded in the collectivos but no one complained and in the end we were all pretty satisfied with how we pushed our limits a bit.

Finca El Paraiso Waterfalls, Guatemala
Thursday February 27th, 2014. This is really something quite weird and amazing. The waterfalls are hot like the temperature of a really hot shower, yet the pool below where the hot water falls in, is cold. Warm enough to swim in but still, quite cold.

Rio Dulce, Guatemala
Rio Dulce Guatemala's best kept secret! The sweet river winds its way from the Caribbean through the southeast of the country to Lake Izabal. There are plenty of places to stay, some closer to town and some hidden further in the jungle. All are accessible only via boat. While here, I visited the hot waterfalls of Finca Paraiso, El Boqueron canyon, and Castillo de San Felipe. I also had a guide take me on an early morning wildlife tour of lake Izabal where I saw manatees and monkeys. If you're looking for adventure, nature, and few tourists with a real local Guatemalan experience, this is the place to visit.
