Plitvice Lakes National Park is on the list of World Heritage of UNESCO. The waters flowing over the limestone and chalk have, over thousands of years, deposited travertine barriers, creating natural dams which in turn have created a series of beautiful lakes, caves and waterfalls. These geological processes continue today. The forests in the park are home to bears, wolves and many rare bird species. There are 16 interlinked lakes between Mala Kapela Mountain and Pljesevica Mountain. (Ref.UNESCO website-

I am traveling from the city of Ostrava to Plzen in Czechia (Czech Republic) to experience the Pilsen region, and especially the Pilsen beer culture. Czech beer is amazing. I caught the 730am train, first class car, where I drank champagne and enjoyed the country-side views. Once we got to Plzen, it was an easy walk to my hotel, the Vienna House Easy Pilsen. From there, it was time for some beer and a delicious lunch of fried cheese, cabbage, and dumplings.
Special thank you to @pilsenjoy for introducing me to such awesome sights and tastes in Plzen.

Found Home Brew Wine in Brno Czech Republic, Served by 19yr old local girl and her little brother, called Burčáák! ???? This is the daily market, Monday to Friday in Cabbage Market Square, just in front of the Grandezza Hotel. She had white wine and red wine for sale.
I also found a fair currency exchange booth. Just search Sun Rice and beside it was the best money changer. I got 22.5 CZK for 1 USD. Deal. This city doesn't have many tourists, and this makes it perfect spot to go local.
Please like, share, and comment. ❤❤????????

Zeman favourite to win second term in Czech presidential vote
(11 Jan 2018) The Czech Republic's controversy-courting president is seeking a second five-year term in an election that features eight challengers hoping to replace him in the largely ceremonial post.
Milos Zeman was one of the few European leaders who endorsed US President Donald Trump's bid for the White House and voiced support for his plan to move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
He was elected in 2013 during the country's first direct presidential vote, a victory that returned the former left-leaning prime minister to power.
The previous two presidents, Vaclav Havel and Vaclav Klaus, were elected by legislators.
Zeman, 73, is a heavy favourite for the weekend's first round of the vote, according to polls.
In office, he became known for strong anti-migrant rhetoric that united him with the populist right while divided the nation with his pro-Russian stance and support for closer ties with China.
If no candidate achieves a majority during the voting on Friday and Saturday, the top two finishers will face each other in a run-off in two weeks' time.
Jiri Drahos, 68, the former president of the Czech Academy of Sciences is considered the most serious contender to unseat Zeman.
Drahos isn't affiliated with a political party.
He says he is worried about the rise of extremism and populism and warned against Russia's possible interference in the ballot.
A professor of chemistry, he headed the Academy from 2009 till 2017.
He is predicted to get some 27 percent and challenge Zeman in the runoffs.
Michal Horacek, 65, a popular pop music songwriter is distant third with 12 percent.
A former co-owner of a betting agency, he is also not affiliated with any political group and finances his campaign by himself.
In the 1989 Velvet Revolution, Horacek helped organise talks between the communist regime and anti-communist dissidents led by playwright Vaclav Havel.
Unlike them, Mirek Topolanek, 61, is not a political newcomer.
The colourful and outspoken politician served as prime minister during 2006-'09 as the head of the conservative, euro-sceptic Civic Democratic Party.
He was a staunch supporter of a US missile defence plan former President Barack Obama ultimately abandoned.
Topolanek often made headlines, such as when he called Obama's economic recovery plan a road to hell.
He left politics for business in 2010.
He and a former diplomat, Pavel Fischer, are the two remaining candidates with a least a theoretical chance to advance.
Under the Czech constitution, the president has the power to pick the prime minister, and to appoint members of the Central Bank board.
With the approval of Parliament's upper house, the president selects Constitutional Court judges.
Otherwise, the president has little executive power and the country is run by the government chosen and led by the prime minister.

Holašovice, Czech Republic - UNESCO - Unravel Travel TV
Holašovice is an exceptionally complete and well-preserved example of a traditional central European village. It has a large number of outstanding 18th- and 19th-century vernacular buildings in a style known as South Bohemian Folk Baroque, and preserves a ground plan dating from the Middle Ages.
The settlement was not founded until the period of large-scale colonization of the border regions of Bohemia in the first half of the 13th century. The first written record is in a 1292 document of Wenceslas II, who gave the village, along with several others, to the Cistercian Monastery at Vyšsí Brod, which retained possession until 1848. Until the beginning of the 16th century the area was settled by Czechs, but the plague that ravaged Bohemia in 1521 left only two inhabitants alive. The Cistercians brought in settlers from other possessions of the order in Bavaria and Austria: all the family names listed in a monastic record of 1524-30 were German. There followed a period of prosperity that came to an end with the Thirty Years' War (1618-48), but the village quickly recovered.
The population remained predominantly German until the creation of the Czechoslovak Republic in 1918. By the time the ethnic Germans were expelled at the end of the Second World War Czechs remained in a minority. The Definitive Cadaster of 1827 reveals that all the farmsteads (with the exception of the barns) in 'Holschowitz' were of masonry, not timber-framed, as was the case in most of the villages of Bohemia at that time. Between 1840 and 1880 there was considerable rebuilding in the villages of North Bohemia, and later in South Bohemia, and the style adopted, known as 'Folk Baroque', is characteristic of this region.
Holašovice is situated in the heart of South Bohemia, 15 km west of České Budějovice and 18 km north of Český Krumlov. The village consists at the present time of 120 buildings arranged round an elongated village square, with a small chapel and cross on it, and some more recent buildings on the outskirts. The historical reservation consists of the original village as surveyed in the Definitive Cadaster, which includes 23 farmsteads that are protected architectural monuments, along with their attached farm buildings (barns, stables, etc.) and gardens or tofts. The farmsteads are all built with their gable-ends facing the square. Among the others, Farmstead No. 8 is the largest in the village. The main farmhouse is a modest chamber-type structure with two rooms, and this adjoins a long cowhouse, divided into two vaulted rooms; this wing is dated on the facade to 1861. To the right of the entrance is a massive three-storey granary, the present form of which probably dates from the mid-19th century. The courtyard is closed at the rear by a spacious stone barn, built towards the end of the 19th century to replace an earlier timber structure.
In a number of cases granaries and barns were converted in the years preceding and following the Second World War into retirement dwellings; this process involved substantial reconstruction. In addition to the farmsteads there are several farm labourers' cottages that are much smaller and simpler in design. The village smithy and the smith's house are located in the middle of the village square. A facility of this kind is known to have existed in Holašovice since the beginning of the 18th century. It was originally located on the west side of the square, but was moved to its present position in 1885. Both buildings are single-storey structures with saddle roofs, and the smithy has a characteristic arched opening on the square (now closed, since it has been converted for residential use). The other architectural feature in the village square is the small Chapel of St John of Nepomuk. This is a slender structure with a tall bell-shaped front. The rectangular interior is vaulted, with two lunettes closing it. The chapel has a saddle roof hipped at one end and with a four-pillar lantern spire containing a bell in its centre. It appears to date from the mid-18th century.

How to Make an Attractive City
We've grown good at making many things in the modern world - but strangely the art of making attractive cities has been lost. Here are some key principles for how to make attractive cities once again. If you like our films, take a look at our shop (we ship worldwide):

“Cities are a big deal. We pretty much all have to live in them. We should try hard to get them right. So few cities are nice, very few out of many thousands are really beautiful; embarrassingly the more appealing ones tend to be old, which is weird because we’re mostly much better at making things now...”

PRAGUE, VYŠEHRAD, PRAGUE CASTLE , THE OLDEST BUILDING, CZECH REPUBLIC
This article is about a place in the Czech Republic. For the Prague Metro station, see Vyšehrad (Prague Metro). For other similarly named places, see Visegrad (disambiguation).
Vyšehrad (Czech for upper castle) is a historical fort located in the city of Prague, Czech Republic. It was built, probably in the 10th century, on a hill over the Vltava River. Situated within the castle is the Basilica of St Peter and St Paul, as well as the Vyšehrad Cemetery, containing the remains of many famous people from Czech history, among them Antonín Dvořák, Bedřich Smetana, Karel Čapek, and Alphonse Mucha. It also contains one of Prague's oldest surviving buildings, the Rotunda of St Martin from the 11th century. The oldest buildings in Prague are located within Prague Castle. The Basilica St. Martin, which was built from 900-950, and the Church of the Virgin Mary, which was built in the year 870.
Local legend holds that Vyšehrad was the location of the first settlement which later became Prague, though thus far this claim remains unsubstantiated., Vyšehrad je historické hradiště a pevnost na skále nad pravým břehem řeky Vltavy ve čtvrti Vyšehrad v Praze.
