For several months now, the inhabitants of Ozersk have been living in constant fear - a maniac has appeared in the city, which disfigures and strangles young women. After a quarrel with her husband, the rich heiress Maria Vorontsova goes missing. The head of the police department, Boris Novinsky, entrusts the case to a young investigator, yesterday's trainee and his daughter Alina Novinsky. The search for Vorontsova ends to no avail, but they become an occasion for the rapprochement between Alina and Maria’s husband, Mark.
Four years later, they have a strong family. Once Mark goes on a business trip and meets a woman, like two drops of water similar to Mary. Mark is unable to cope with the feelings that once again surged over him and throws Alina for the sake of a woman so frighteningly like his first wife. Meanwhile, in Ozersk, the wave of murders resumes - judging by the handwriting, the mysterious maniac that everyone has already forgotten about is on the hunt again. Alina returns to police work and the search for the maniac, which will lead her to a shocking clue ...

Russian Spacewalk
Two Russian cosmonauts wrapped up a 5-hour, 58-minute spacewalk at 10:32 a.m. PDT Thursday, completing the replacement of a laser communications experiment with a new platform for a small optical camera system, the installation of new spacewalk aids and an inspection of antenna covers. Clad in Orlan spacesuits, Expedition 36 Flight Engineers Fyodor Yurchikhin and Alexander Misurkin began their second spacewalk within the span of a week when they opened the hatch to the International Space Station's Pirs docking compartment at 4:34 a.m. As the two spacewalkers moved out to the first worksite on the Zvezda service module, they carried a combination EVA workstation and biaxial pointing platform upon which a small optical camera system will be installed during a future spacewalk. After attaching the assembly to a temporary stowage location, Yurchikhin and Misurkin removed the External Onboard Laser Communications System, which was installed on Zvezda in August 2011 during an Expedition 28 spacewalk. With the laser communications experiment removed and temporarily stowed with its protective cover, the two spacewalkers began to install the camera platform before noticing that its base plate was not properly aligned. Initially, Russian mission controllers told the spacewalkers to stand down on the installation, and Yurchikhin carried the platform back into the Pirs airlock. However, after determining that the alignment issue with base plate of the EVA workstation and biaxial pointing platform could be corrected after its installation, Russian flight controllers directed the spacewalkers to retrieve the platform from the airlock and install it at as planned on the starboard side of Zvezda. Two cameras, scheduled to be delivered to station aboard a Progress cargo craft in November, will be mounted on the platform during a spacewalk planned for December.

Утром 14 декабря 1825 года представители лучших дворянских родов, гвардейские офицеры, - опора престола! – вывели на Сенатскую площадь войска и начали бунт против императора. К вечеру, после безуспешных переговоров и нескольких артиллерийских залпов, все было кончено. Организаторы восстания были осуждены по обвинению в государственной измене. Пятеро повешены, остальные отправлены на каторгу. Своей прямой цели восстание не достигло. Но оно определило направление общественно-политической жизни как минимум на полвека вперед.
История декабристов полна противоречий и до сегодняшнего дня не разгадана до конца. Среди заговорщиков были профессиональные военные, опытные боевые офицеры, но организация восстания практически отсутствует, все происходит стихийно и нелогично. Вместо того, чтобы, как запланировано, убить Николая I, бунтовщики почему-то убивают героя 1812 года, генерала Милорадовича. И это лишь малая часть тех «но» и «однако», которые возникают в этой запутанной и почти детективной истории.
Дело Декабристов - это новый двухсерийный документально-игровой фильм от создателей цикла Романовы. Авторы проекта и историки пошагово восстановили все события 14 декабря 1825 года. Зрители получат возможность полностью проследить ход восстания, понаблюдать за его главными организаторами и участниками. Хронологически выстроенная цепочка исторических событий позволит зрителю провести собственное расследование и разобраться, что в действительности произошло в ту роковую ночь на Сенатской площади почти два века назад.

The third episode in our “Chronicles of the Desert” series introduces us to Abba Bessarion. Abba Bessarion lived in Egypt in the fourth century. He withdrew into the desert at a young age and was initiated into the angelic life by St. Anthony the Great. He was later a disciple of St. Macarius the Great before becoming a wandering solitary. The following video was based on sayings collected by his disciple Doulas and recorded in The Sayings of the Desert Fathers. One of his sayings was that The monk ought to be as the Cherubim and the Seraphim: all eye. No doubt he became all eye through his strict asceticism and by following the commandments of Christ to the fullest. More videos coming soon!
