For these peoples, snowmobiles are necessities of life, and a recently opened Yamaha dealership in a city north of the Arctic Circle is now there to supply them. This is the story of a Yamaha man who came to the land of the northern peoples, with a respect for their native lifestyle and a desire to learn their ways and customs as he supplies the Yamaha products and service they want and need.

Russia: Is Santa on strike? Reindeers board flight to herders congress
Dozens of reindeer were filmed in the Olenyok rural locality, in the Sakha Republic, Friday, being herded on to the back of the Polar Airlines AN-26 cargo plane bound for the annual herders' congress in Yakutsk in eastern Siberia.
The animals were transported by plane to attend the 4th World Reindeer Herders' Congress and to compete in traditional reindeer races and games which annually attract large crowds in Yakutsk.
The 1st World Reindeer Herders' Congress took place in the city of Nadym, in the Yamal region, in 1997, and was funded by the Russian government together with the regional authorities in Yamal. The Congress resulted in the establishment of the Association of World Reindeer Herders (WRH).
