UNESCOMŮŽEŠ [unesco you like] – Třeboň Fishpond Heritage
The Třeboň Basin is a world-famous fishpond area in Southern Bohemia. The area's marvelous nature and landscape environment, formed by a sophisticated system of man-made waterworks, is enhanced by its many outstanding architectural monuments. The prosperity of the town of Třeboň, the area's economic hub, began after in 1366 with its acquisition by the Rožmberk family who systematically developed fish farming and breeding. The overall character of the Třeboň landscape along the Lužnice River between the towns of Třeboň and Veselí nad Lužnicí bears witness to the systematic activities of the fishpond engineers Štěpánek Netolický and Jakub Krčín. The backbone of the entire pond system is the Golden Canal which draws the water from the Lužnice River to the adjacent ponds and the New River, an artificial canal joining the rivers Lužnice and the Nežárka and to the ponds Svět and Rožmberk. The Rožmberk Fishpond is the largest pond in the Czech republic.
About:
There are currently twelve unique Unesco World Heritage Sites in the Czech Republic that you can visit. However, there are many more fascinating sites in this beautiful country. In the Unescomůžeš (Unesco You Like) project we bring you a number of short documentary videos about the sites which are listed in the Czech Republic's Unesco World Heritage Tentative List. One day, these sites may become part of the World Heritage. Until that time you can enjoy their unique beauty in our videos and maybe it might even inspire you to choose the Czech Republic for the destination of your next trip. All of the films were shot by Czech photographer Ondrej Tylcer and each movie is accompanied by soundtrack music which was inspired by the site's mood, produced by the renowned Czech musician Robert Forman.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture Czech Republic.

2 lane Bowling Bar!! Tabor of South Bohemia Czech Republic. 1.5 hrs, 4 drinks for only $15 USD.
I used Airbnb for a great place to stay. Sign up for Airbnb with my link and get up to $40 off. airbnb.com/c/jasonr248
I arrived to the beautiful city of Tabor in Czech Republic of the South Bohemia Region with the plan to only stay one night, but ended up staying 2 more, since it is such a comfortable place to be. The cobble stone streets, the beautiful houses and buildings. The food. The beer. All so good and so cheap, and not spoiled by tons of tourists... yet. ???? Go there to get away from it all.
Here is one special place I found... It's a bowling bar in the basement. A bowling bar? I walked in and couldn't believe my eyes that they actually had 2 full length bowling lanes in the back of this little basement bar. So, we played. The cost after 4 drinks and 1.5 hrs of bowling cost only $15 usd. deal.

Czech Republic - Moravský Kras
The Moravian Karst (Czech: Moravský kras) is a karst landscape and protected nature reserve to the north of Brno in the eastern part of the Czech Republic, located near the town of Blansko. It encompasses a number of notable geological features, including roughly 1100 caverns and gorges and covers an area of roughly 92 km². Currently, four of the cave systems (Punkva Caves, Balcarka Cave, Kateřinská Cave, and Sloupsko-šošůvské Cave) are open for public tours and exploration.
This region is also home to one of the most important single geological features in the Czech Republic, the Macocha Abyss, a gorge 138 m deep, which was formed when the ceiling of an underground cave chamber collapsed. Macocha Abyss is also the place where the Punkva River begins to run underground through the Punkvení cave system, and two small pools of water are visible at the surface.

The Czech Republic (officially known by its short name, Czechia) is a small landlocked country in Central Europe, situated southeast of Germany and bordering Austria to the south, Poland to the north and Slovakia to the southeast.
The Czech Republic is not a geographically large country, but it has a rich and eventful history. From time immemorial, Czechs, Germans, Jews and Slovaks, as well as Italian stonemasons and stucco workers, French tradesmen and deserters from Napoleon’s army, have all lived and worked here, all influencing one another. For centuries they jointly cultivated their land, creating works that still command respect and admiration today. It is thanks to their inventiveness and skill that this small country is graced with hundreds of ancient castles, monasteries and stately mansions, and even entire towns that give the impression of being comprehensive artifacts. The Czech Republic contains a vast amount of architectural treasure, as well as beautiful forests and mountains to match.
Regions:
The Czech Republic has 14 political regions (kraj) which can be grouped together into eight general regions:
Central Bohemia (Prague, Kutná Hora, Karlštejn)
The metropolitan centre of the Czech Republic with its capital city, known for its river valleys, extinct volcanic mounds, and green pastures.
West Bohemia (Pilsen, Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně, Františkovy Lázně)
A forested and mountainous region, home of the pilsner beer, numerous spas towns, and the Bohemian Forest (Šumava).
North Bohemia (Liberec, Ústí nad Labem, Děčín, Bohemian Paradise)
A mountainous and coal mining region with a strong industrial past, and the location of the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory) and parts of the Giant Mountains (Krkonoše). Site to numerous winter resorts.
East Bohemia (Hradec Králové, Pardubice, Litomyšl, Špindlerův Mlýn)
Main location of the highly-popular Giant Mountains (Krkonoše) and the Czech Republic's highest peak, Sněžka.
South Bohemia (České Budějovice, Český Krumlov, Třeboň)
Hilly, forested landscapes, and the source of the Vltava River. A highly popular area for rafters in the summer.
Bohemian-Moravian Highlands (Telč, Třebíč, Žďár nad Sázavou)
A very green and uneven region, considered the geographic heart of the country.
North Moravia (Ostrava, Olomouc, Opava, Litovel)
A highly industrial region which includes Czech Silesia, although dotted with beautiful hills and mountains.
South Moravia (Brno, Znojmo, Zlín, Lednice-Valtice)
Well-known for its rural and slow pace of life, warm summers, rolling vineyards, and its potent plum brandy (slivovice).
Cities:
Prague (Praha) — the country's capital and largest city, and one of Europe's premier tourist destinations. Its large and beautiful historical core is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Brno — the largest city in Moravia and the republic's second city, with several excellent museums, an accessible old town, a stunning cathedral, and the annual Grand Prix.
České Budějovice – known also as Budweis, an attractive city in South Bohemia with an impressive old town square.
Český Krumlov — a stunning medieval and Renaissance town in South Bohemia, home to the country's second largest palace, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Karlovy Vary — a historic spa resort and the republic's largest, especially popular with German and Russian tourists, and the site of the country's most prestigious film festival.
Kutná Hora — a historical medieval town in Central Bohemia, home to St. Barbara's Church, old silver mines, and the Sedlec Ossuary, decorated with tens of thousands of human remains. Its attractions are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Olomouc — a riverside university town with a thousand-year history, and the second largest historical centre in the Czech Republic after Prague.
Ostrava — a vibrant and sometimes gritty blue collar city with a strong subculture, and a long history of coal mining and steel production.
Opava — the former capital of Silesia.
Pilsen (Plzeň) — home of the original Pilsner Urquell beer and the Škoda Works, and the largest city in West Bohemia.
Telč — a perfectly preserved Renaissance town centre surrounded by shallow man-made lakes. The town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Zlín - Beautiful example of functionalistic architecture inspired by garden cities of Le Corbusier and rebuilt by Baťa shoemaker family. The town is set in small hills, nature, zoo and spa literally behind a hill.

Czech Folk Song-Kdo Má Počernú Galánku-Vance Sova-South Bohemia Vid
Listen to my version of Czech folk song Kdo Má Počernú Galánku which I sing and play on guitar and watch my video from South Bohemia which I took this summer. It shows a mountain called Boubín at the start of the video and then the river Blanice. The song is actually from the border region of Moravia and Slovakia. The language of it is a dialect from south east Moravia. The song is about love.
Enjoy.

South Bohemia, a unique region rich in architecture and culture which for centuries has been administered in harmony with nature, is sure to surprise every visitor.
Sightseers will be impressed with how enlightened and rich must the local noble families have been, how talented their artist and craftsmen have been. They have left stunning for future generations, countless number of historical monuments which document the eventful and sundry history of this region: age-old towns full of life and culture, grand Gothic churches, dreamy Renaissance castles, medieval monasteries, unique folk architecture and beautiful pond systems.
The region has remained untouched by major modern industry, preserved until now in a condition very similar to the created by previous generations. The number of natural reservations established in the region can confirm the quality of landscape.
Southern Bohemia abounds in ponds, pine forests and large peat bogs, the countryside enlivened with silhouettes of towns and country churches that perfectly match the dazzling whiteness of farms. South Bohemia is dotted with fishponds and criss-crossed by innumerable canals where tench and, particularly, carp, the favourite Czech Christmas dish, have been bred for 500 years. This is typical South Bohemian landscape in the surroundings of Ceske Budejovice, Trebon or Veseli nad Luznici. You may also find rugged mountains such as Novohradske hory or Blansky les, north of Cesky Krumlov.
