Top 10 things to do and see in Brighton|UK. Visit Brighton| US Historians
us historians have brought you a new video for you.Located on the south coast of England, Brighton (ancient “Brighthelmstone”) dates back to some time before 1086. During the 18th Century it became a popular sun bathing health resort and was used as a seaside getaway by the Prince Regent. In 1841 the railway reached the town making it a popular destination for day-trippers from London. There are many historically important and beautiful landmarks to be seen in Brighton including the Royal Pavilion, the Brighton Wheel, Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, Brighton Toy & Model Museum and Brighton Racecourse, just to name a few. It’s also a great place to shop and play, so take the time to visit this town of about 480,000 before venturing to other parts of the United Kingdom.

Young Ummah Project at Brighton Museum
This film, currently on display in the World Stories: Young Voices gallery at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, was made by members of the Young Ummah Project, which is a group for young Muslims in Brighton & Hove. In the film the young people explore the Five Pillars, the key beliefs of Islam. The Five Pillars are Shahada (belief in one God and the Prophet Muhammad), Salat (daily ritual prayer), Zakat (charity), Sawm (fasting during the month of Ramadan) and Hajj (pilgrimage to the sacred city of Makka).
Clip features subtitles, closed captions, and British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation.

Brighton & Hove in the Ice Age
A timeline of prehistoric Brighton & Hove, showing how the landscape has changed over thousands of years. It shows how different geological stages have affected the formation of Britain as an island, and how it has frequently been linked by land to Continental Europe.
It shows mammoths, woolly rhinos, hyenas and other prehistoric creatures in what is now central Brighton.

Brighton Museum’s Elaine Evans Archaeology Gallery
Brighton Museum's new Elaine Evans Archaeology Gallery follows the stories of seven people, five who were early residents of Brighton & Hove. Using scientific research from their remains, 3D reconstructions have been recreated to show what they may have looked like. The gallery uses sound, film and images to illustrate life in Saxon times including the sound of people working, cooking and sawing.

Museum Adventure | Brighton Film, Fine Art and Fossils
The Hove and Brighton museum had some of the best museum displays. It combined my love of arts & craft with history. There were so many different things to see and interact with. Whilst, the Booth museum had so many fossils, which I absolutely love as I used to study them back for my GCSE art.
