Trying Herbal Soup at 錦洲美食, near Xingtian Temple Station
We ate dinner over at 錦洲美食. The herbal soup had a very unique and distinctive taste. Didn’t taste delicious, but not too bad. Tasted quite healthy, though, if that makes sense. The location is: No. 243號, Jinzhou Street, Zhongshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 10491

丸林魯肉飯で食事をしてから、行天宮まで行くのに徒歩で行くことにしました。(20-25分程度)
丸林魯肉飯から農安街付近の様子です。
バスやタクシーでの移動もいいですが、のんびりと歩いていろいろな場所やお店を見ながら散歩するのも楽しいです。
暑い時は大変ですが・・・
After having a meal at Wánlín lǔ ròu fàn, we decided to go on foot to go to Gyotengu.
It is a state near Nong'an Street, Zhongshan District Taipei from Marubayashi Meat Rice.
It's good to go by bus or taxi, but it's also fun to take a leisurely stroll while looking at various places and shops.

Xingtian Temple is one of the important temples in Taipei. It's easy to go there by taking the MRT to Xingtian Temple Station. On this visit I didn't see the spirit-appeasing ceremonies usually conducted by the old ladies in blue robes. Was the wrong time of the day I guess.

Next, we check out a beautiful temple, Xingtian Temple 行天宫 to see Taiwanese culture in action. This temple banned the use of burning incense to combat air pollution. Awesome! Then, we take you to a spot where old concepts meet new design: Addiction Aquatic Development. Here you can have get an incredibly CHEAP deal on sushi, sashimi, grilled seafood and MORE! We also checked out the live seafood area while we were there to have TUNA. Now that we're SUPER full, we take a rest at Lin An Tai Ancestral Home, a peaceful museum and garden where you can observe one of the best preseved Chinese homes in all of Taiwan! For dessert (of course) we head to a shop that specializes in Wheel Cakes 红豆餅, one with red bean and one with custard. And how could you resist?! They are so CHEAP and FRESH! To end our CRAZY day of eating, we head to a Michelin recommended (bib gourmand) street food stall that fries meat 烤肉! We ordered beef & clams, Taiwan-style! As a tip, wash it all down with a Taiwan beer! Taipei is a food-lovers DREAM come true!

The view is taken from the north of Taiwan, north of Taipei, and is looking directly south. The sprawling complex with powder blue roofs beyond the temple is the main maintenance yard and garages for the Taipei MRT train system.
Today was the first time I visited this temple even though I lived near it for years. The temple and its grounds are exceedingly tidy and trim. Like the Xingtian Temple in Taipei it is unique in that there are no offering tables nor is incense burnt. Spartan.
The grounds are very green and beautiful. The surrounding gardens are meticulously maintained. From the rear of the temple there's a trail head that leads into the woods above.
This temple is the Beitou branch of the widely visited Xingtian Temple on Minquan East Road in Taipei, yet it in fact pre-dates the main temple. The principle deity here is Guansheng Dijun. The Beitou Branch is commonly known as Zhongyi Temple due to its proximity to the former Zhongyi Railway Station and Zhongyi MRT Station today.
This grand temple covers an area of about 8.0 hectares. The facilities include a library, lushly planted grounds, trails, landscaped courtyards, rest pavilions, a parking lot and public restrooms. The Zhongyi Trail head is also located here for visitors wishing to explore the scenic natural surroundings.
