Krabi Things To Do? Huay Toh Waterfall! (Krabi, Thailand)
Krabi Thailand Waterfall called Huay Toh.
Khao Phanom Bencha National park is the site of this cool waterfall and jungle trek, complete with viewpoint and another, smaller water fall.
Price to get in is currently just 100 THB for foreigners and 20 THB for Thais. If there are only Thais entering the park - it is free. Once a foreigner is seen - the entire group gets charged. Go figure, right? Such is life in Thailand. It has been like this all 7 years I've been here.
Huay Toh waterfall is a multi-tiered waterfall located about 27 kilometers outside Krabi town at the western base of Khao Phanom Bencha mountain peak.
The park is quite amazing, and the waterfall is worth the walk. I say in the video it's about 350m, but maybe the walk is more like 450 meters to reach the falls.
The water is clean and you can swim in the various pools. The falls are seen here on November 14th. We haven't had a good rain in about 2 weeks prior, so you can see - there is still enough water to make it worthwhile. During the height of the dry season the water is considerably less - and maybe not worth visiting this attraction during that time.
I apologize for the bouncy video. I thought the vibration reduction worked better than it shows here. I'll concentrate more on keeping steady videos from now on.

Que faire à Krabi ou Ao Nang ? Louer un scooter et vous rendre jusqu'à la cascade Huay Toh. Ce n'est pas très cher et s'il fait trop chaud vous pourrez vous rafraîchir directement sous la cascade.

KRABI In A Day, 3 Amazing Sites! Emerald Pool, Hot Springs, And Tiger Temple.
When you're in Krabi Thailand you need to see these 3 mind blowing sites! We hit the road for an amazing day trip catching these three must see sites: Emerald Pool, Hot Springs and Tiger Cave temple. The first stop emerald pool is a natural wonder of stunning green (emerald) pool in the middle of the jungle. With warm bath like water and a mini waterfall to stand under we had never seen anything like it. Just 15 minutes down the road in the same national park was a natural hot springs with tiered water pools like mini hot tubs in the middle of the jungle. It is said that these pools have healing properties but they sure were relaxing. Last stop was Tiger Cave temple with a 1237 step terrifying climb to the top of the mountain. The Tiger cave at the bottom is still used by monks who meditate and practice blessing ceremonies to willing participants. It is said that this cave housed tigers many years ago and has tiger paw print imprints in the cave. It was stunning! We were debating whether to take the climb up steep treacherous stairs to the top as there was a looming thunder storm and the climb is dangerous enough on its own without a storm. Needless to say we climbed up, got caught in the storm and took shelter under a tin roof (in a lightning storm). After making it safely down we were so glad we decided to do the climb. These 3 sites are a must do if heading to Krabi.

this is a video clip of me and my friends Jo and Megan visiting the hot springs waterfall in krabi, Thailand.
Khao Phanom Bencha National Park | Thailand(高番本查国家公园)
Blessed with untouched, lush forests, mountain ranges, Krabi’s only National Park, the 31,325-rai of far-reached Khao Phanom Pencha National Park, covers parts of the municipality, AoLuek and KhaoPhanom districts. It is also Krabi’s highest altitude at 1,397 meters above the sea level, home to natural wonders like waterfalls, streams and caves, making it’s a perfect habitat for wild animals from Asian tapirs, Sumatran serows, Asiatic black bear and fishing cat to over 218 bird species such as eagles, hornbills and woodpeckers.
Waterfalls are among the must-see attractions here, with highlights are Huay To and Huay Sad waterfalls. HuayTo Waterfall, which is originated from PhanomBencha Mountain, featuring 5 cascades, each of which has its own name: Wang Sam Hap, Wang Chong Loi, Wang Doi Prong, Wang Thewada and Wang Ton Phrio, respectively. Huay To flows into KrabiYai Canal in Krabi’s provincial town. Next stop is Huay Sade Waterfall which is only 300 meters away from the park’s office. Slightly smaller, Huay Sade owns 3 cascades of crystal clear pool of refreshing water that eventually flows into Ton Canal and KrabiYai Canal. Both waterfalls offer adventurous trekking trails, which can span from two to three nights (camping involved) passing through different stops in the lush, tropical forest where you’ll enjoy panoramic sceneries. The weather is comfortable and cool all year round, however, it’s best to get the needed information ahead of your travel. Rental tent for 2-8 people is offered at 150-600 THB per night and it is 30 THB per tent per night if bring your own tents. Kindly contact the National Park’s office for more information.

Nicest small beach town in Thailand (+ visit/live costs) Prachuap Khiri Khan
*update - Several viewers have fairly commented on the overly fast text transitions. Thus, please click 'pause' to view any text of particular interest. Apologies all, this was an early video making attempt, much to learn. Thank you for your kind patience.
---------------
-Is Prachuap Khiri Khan the nicest small beach town in Thailand? It's a VERY subjective topic (of course) as each person has their own ideal of what makes for the 'nicest' and combined with the category 'nicest small beach town in Thailand' a number of towns would rightly come up for consideration.
Will put my own bias right up front as Prachuap Khiri Khan (PKK;) town has long been a fav go-to getaway from my home in Bangkok. With its idyllic backdrop, nearby beautiful beaches, superb National parks, plus great amenities for a small town AND proximity to Bangkok, PKK is an absolute gem and always a genuine pleasure to visit.
Yet PKK is far less visited than its deservedly renowned Royal neighbour to the North (Hua Hin) which is an hour or so closer to Bangkok. Most Expats looking for a short central coast beach break opt for Hua Hin. Most tourists travelling via road or rail heading South either stop in Hua Hin as a solo / or enroute destination, or go straight on through to hop a ferry in Surat Thani to Koh Samui & surrounding Islands. One pities those in both groups who for whatever reason have not visited absolutely sublime PKK. One is also certain most local Expats & tourists living or regularly vacationing in PKK might comment 'Nothing to see here, no need to come'.... (with wry and knowing grins;)
Hope you enjoy the PKK video and if you do, shhhhh!!!!

Footnote: Forgot to add specific train booking info/costs in the video as follows:
1) Best to book Thai train seats ahead of time either in person (at the station) or online:
Thailand SRT website:
First select 'Online Booking' & then 'Southern Line' & then 'Prachuap Khiri Khan'
2) Recommend either of the following trains as both get you in before too late (there are others too):
* Dep 8:05 - Arrv 12:28 SPECIAL EXPRESS #43
(aircon/commuter type train, a/c seat cost from 455 Baht)
** Dep 13:00 - Arrv 18:35 RAPID #171
(aircon/seat in sleeper car but seat only converts to bed after Hua Hin or PKK up 2 u,
a/c seat/bed cost from 595 Baht for 'lower' = seat facing travel direction vs looking back)
Seating - select left or right side?
If taking the 8 am train sun will mostly be on left side
If taking the 1 pm train sun will mostly be on right side
***If booking online options say 'full', still go to the station & check as they 'may' have seats which are not avail online.
****Do NOT recommend non-aircon as it can be a 6 hr etc commute if delayed so can get a bit sticky.
A/C can be a bit too cold so bring a wrap ladies, or joggers etc guys.
There are usually electric plugins to charge phones etc.
As of this writing Hua Lamphong remains open and switch to Bang Sue 'super station' in 2019 is pushed fwd to late 2020. Further, it's been announced Hualamphong Stn will continue in operation just not as the main stn.
Hope this helps some viewers!
