SO SORRY FOR THE MANY PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED IN THIS VIDEO! :( It’s my first time vlogging so I didn’t expect my memory card to be full on the fourth day of our trip!! Didn’t bring a spare battery as well and hence, my camera died in some parts. As such, some portions were random video clips taken with my iPhone 5S! :(
Nonetheless, I hope you enjoyed this video! Talk to me in the comments and let me know what else you’d like to see my future videos! Remember to subscribe for more weekly updates! :)

This was built by late President Chiang Jing-guo, in memory of his mother, during construction of the road. On the east side of the bridge, the Cimu pavilion was built by late President Chiang Kai-shek, in memory of his mother, Mrs. Wang.
6:04 — Swallows Grotto (燕子口 Yanzikou)
•••••• ➫ The Grotto trail is interspersed with tunnels and overlooks the narrowest portion of Taroko Gorge where the river is most rapid. The walls on each side of the river contain caves which form natural nesting places for spring swallow birds, bringing life to the area nearby the roaring river, with locals naming it Swallow Grotto.

It is now run as a cultural and leisure park area dedicated to the railway culture.

Hualien Earthquake (Taiwan)
On Tuesday the 6th of February 2018 at approximately 11:50pm, A 6.4-magnitude earthquake killed at least 2 & injured more than 100, some are still believed trapped inside the partially collapsed Marshal hotel in Hualien City, Hualien County, Taiwan.
Footage shows the earthquake, aftermath & aftershocks.
A shallow 6.4-magnitude earthquake in Taiwan has struck the eastern city of Hualien, killing at least two people & injuring more than 100.
The quake hit at 23.50 (15.50 GMT) around 14 miles (22km) north-east of Hualien, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The Central News Agency reported that the ground floor of the Marshal hotel in Hualien had caved in & people were believed to be trapped inside.
Photographs posted on social media showed the hotel appearing to lean sharply to one side.
Another hotel, known as the Beautiful Life hotel, was also reported to have been damaged.
Among the several badly damaged buildings was a hospital, local media reports.
About 40,000 homes are without water, and highways & bridges have been are closed.
Emergency responders have rescued about 150 people from hotels & residential buildings that have partially collapsed in the city of Hualien.
“Two people were unfortunately killed, & 114 have suffered light or severe injuries,” Taiwan’s premier, William Lai, told an emergency government meeting.
A number of aftershocks hit the area, but there was no word of any tsunami warning.
Taiwan lies near the junction of two tectonic plates & is regularly hit by earthquakes, with the quake on Tuesday the latest in a string to have hit the region in recent days.
The fire agency said at least four buildings had toppled or been damaged, with television images showing roads strewn with rubble & cracks in highways.
Hualien is one of Taiwan’s most popular tourist hubs, a port city that lies on the picturesque east coast rail line, close to the popular Taroko gorge.
Taiwan’s president, Tsai Ing-wen, said rescuers from around the island were preparing to help.
“We will get into disaster relief work at the fastest speed,” she said in a post on her Facebook page.

TAIWAN'S EAST COAST
Taiwan's East Coast!
East Coast is consider as the most beautiful part of Taiwan. To be honest, it’s hard not to agree. You will find here many stunning beaches, great surfing spots, multiple national parks and many, many more.
In this video we will talk about Taroko National Park, the crazy dragon bridge and Dulan Forest next to Taitung. We will also talk about unexpected military drill and our way back to Taipei with a… truck!
Dulan Forest is a place for all beach and surfing lovers. Even though I haven’t surfed there I’m sure it’s a great spot as the waves were huge!
Taroko National Park is our favourite NP on the island. You can easily reach it from Hualien as there are many different means of transport you can take, from public bus, through renting a scooter to renting a cab. You can also book a room or put a tent in the national park itself.
Once in Taroko make sure to go and check out the incredible cliffs over the ocean - the views are breathtaking!
Dragon bridge, also known as eight-arch bridge at Sanxiantai is a place one of a kind. The bridge was designed in a way to imitate the dragon and I need to admit, they have done a really good job!
We have been in Taiwan for over a month during which we’ve done a road trip around the island and seen all of the main tourist attractions. Fortunately we’ve met wonderful people on the way who showed us many great places, which are not that popular among tourists.
Our top places to visit in Taiwan are: Taipei, Liuqiu (turtles) and Taroko National Park. Below you will find links to the videos about the places.

Moment bridge collapses in Taiwan crushing boats and trapping crew
A towering arch bridge over a bay collapsed in eastern Taiwan sending a burning oil tanker truck falling on to boats in the water below. Six people were believed trapped on one of the fishing boats, the National Fire Agency said, and the interior minister added that five people were feared to have been on the bridge when it collapsed. Ten people were sent to hospitals, six of them with serious injuries. The Nanfangao Bridge in the city of Yilan, collapsed hours after a typhoon swept by the island, but disaster relief officials would not say if the storm had weakened the bridge or give other details on the potential cause
