Chinese artists have been inspired by these mountains for centuries and their art proves that this area has a special place in the hearts of the Chinese people. 世界自然與文化雙遺産 · 黃山 | the World's Natural and Cultural Heritage · Mount Huang
黃山市境內的黃山爲世界自然與文化雙遺産，世界地質公園，中國十大名勝古迹之一，國家5A級旅遊景區。黃山原名黟山，唐朝時更名爲黃山，取自黃帝之山之意。
黃山風景區面積160.6平方千米，東起黃獅 ，西至小嶺腳，北始二龍橋，南達湯口鎮，分爲溫泉、雲谷、玉屏、北海、松谷、釣橋、浮溪、洋湖、福固九個管理區，包括200多個大小景點。
黃山以奇松、怪石、雲海、溫泉、冬雪五絕著稱于世，擁有天下第一奇山之稱。五嶽歸來不看山，黃山歸來不看嶽是對黃山最好的評價。
黃山風景區內有西遞、宏村古民居，其爲安徽南部民居中最具有代表性的兩座古村落，它們以世外桃源般的田園風光、保存完好的村落形態、工藝精湛的徽派民居和豐富多彩的曆史文化內涵而聞名天下。1999年12月，根據文化遺産遴選標准C(III)(IV)(V)，西遞、宏村被列入《世界遺産名錄》。
Mount Huang in Huangshan City is the world's natural and cultural heritage, world geopark, one of the ten great historic sites, and a national 5A tourist attraction. It changed the name from Mount Yi to Mount Huang since Tang Dynasty, meaning the mountain of Yellow Emperor.
The scenic area of Mount Huang is 160.6 square kilometers, from Yellow Lion (Huangshi) in the east, Xiaolingjiao in the west, Erlong Bridge in the north, and Tangkou Town in the south. Also, the whole scenic area is divided into 9 management parts: hot spring, Cloud valley, Yuping, Beihai, Song valley, Diao Bridge, Fu Creek, Yang Lake, and Fugu, along with over 200 attractions.
Mount Huang, has the reputation of the most fantastic mountain around the world, is famous for its five amazing things- strangely-shaped pines, grotesque rocks, sea of clouds, hot spring, and winter snow. The best comment for Mount Huang is, there's no mountain after visiting the Five Mountains, and there's no mountain after visiting Mount Huang.
There are two old towns in Mount Huang, Xidi Village and Hong Village; they are the most representative old villages in the south of Anhui Province, and are famous for their pastoral scenery, well-preserved village form, exquisite Hui Style dwellings, and colorful historical and cultural connotations.
In December 1999, Xidi Village and Hong Village were listed in the World Heritage List according to Cultural Heritage selecting criteria C (III)(IV)(V).

Mount Huangshan Scenic Area, China, was one of the first protected areas globally to be recognised under the IUCN Green List of Protected and Conserved Areas Standard. It is also a World Heritage Site and Global Geopark. This video provides a detailed case study of the Green List process in Mount Huangshan.
