Taipei's Huashan 1914 Creative Park + Central Art Park / 華山1914文化創意產業園區 / 中央藝文公園
The Huashan 1914 Creative Park / 華山1914文化創意產業園 is a multi-purpose park in Zhongzheng District, Taipei. The park, along with the Central Art Park / 中央藝文公園 next to it, is accessible within walking distance West from Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station of the Taipei Metro.
What is now Huashan 1914 Creative Park opened in 1916 as Taihoku Winery during Japanese rule. It was privately owned winery that produced sake and ginseng wines, and bred moth orchids. In 1922, the government included wine within a list of monopoly items. They bought the winery and changed the name to Taiwan Governor-General's Monopoly Bureau, Taihoku Wine Factory. The winery then produced rice wine and liquors.
In 1945, the ROC Government took ownership over the winery and changed the name into Taiwan Province Monopoly Bureau, Taipei Wine Factory.
In 1949, when the Monopoly Bureau started including tobacco among its items, the winery was renamed to Taiwan Province Tobacco and Wine Government Monopoly Bureau, Taipei First Winery. The winery produced cheap liquor made from cassava that became known as Taibai Liquor. It was a staple drink for most people.
In the mid-1960s, the winery name was changed yet again, this time to Fruit Wine Factory. Rice wine started to occupy a bigger part of its production. In compliance with government policy, the winery started to develop fruit wines. It was the start of its golden age.
In 1987, due to rapid urbanization in Taipei, pollution it caused due to manufacturing process and skyrocketing land prices, the winery moved to Linkou District in Taipei County.
In 1997, the Golden Bough Theater Group barged into the winery premises and staged a production. The winery was slated for demolition. The group was charged with forcible entry into state property. Artists and performing groups reacted and clamored for the reopening of the winery that had been left idle for ten years.
In December 2003, the Council for Cultural Affairs (CCA) took over its management. They planned a complete reconstruction that started in early 2004. And the end of 2005, Huashan 1914 Creative Park opened and offered artists a place to develop their creations and non-profit organizations a venue to hold activities.
In November 2007, the CCA signed a contract with Taiwan Cultural-Creative Development Co., Ltd. to run the park. Since then, theater groups, painters, wood sculptors, writers, movie producers and directors from Taiwan and abroad have found in the park a timeless pace to showcase their creative talents.

IKEA House Review | Next to Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Taipei, Taiwan
During our trip in Taipei, Taiwan, we accidentally found IKEA House which located next to Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Zhongzheng District. According to some sources, it is the only IKEA concept cafe-cum-showroom available in the world. Since it is unique and cute looking, we thought of giving IKEA House a review!

A walk on a rainy day in Taipei - Huashan 1914 Creative Park (華山1914文創園区) / Taipei(台北) - 4K
In this video we’ll show you Huashan 1914 Creative Park (華山1914文創園区) ,Taipei(台北), Taiwan(台湾).
Huashan 1914 Creative Park is one of the biggest and most interesting creative parks we’ve visited in Taiwan. It’s located in Zhongzheng District in Taipei, and boasts multiple exhibit spaces, shops, and cafes within the park grounds. But aside from what’s on display there, one of the things I found most interesting about this creative park is the space itself. It used to be a winery during Japanese rule, producing sake and ginseng wines, as well as breeding moth orchids of all things. You’ll recognize it by its distinctive chimney towering from the winery’s old boiler room.

華山1914文創園區 Huashan 1914 Creative Park - Taipei 360
Huashan 1914 Creative Park is a multi-purpose park in Zhongzheng District, Taipei. Various kinds of exhibitions and stores could be seen in Huashan. There's also a movie theater in the park.
The buildings of Huashan were previously built by Taihoku Winery in 1914 during Japanese rule. Years after, the winery was left idle and current government decided to redevelop this area by making it a cultural creative park that offers a place for artists to develop and non-profit organizations to hold activities.
Now, Huashan has become one of the most popular attractions for people to visit during the weekend. There's a large greenland called The Grand Green where people could play and picnic.

Syntrend Creative Park - The Taipei Tech Mall
Syntrend Creative Park is the name of a massive (12 floors) IT & Creative Mall in the Zhonghen District of Taipei. It's probably a good half a day to do it justice so obviously this vlog is only highlights! It's really worth visiting though.
My computer recently died without any warning and I lost many things including my video editing program. So seizing the opportunity to try a new program. This is the first film I have editied with Da Vinci Resolve. It's very different from my old program (Cyberlink Power Director) so please forgive if it's not perfect, I am learning how to get the best out of it, given my very limited IQ.

Taipei, Taiwan - Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall & Park Full Tour HD (2017)
The National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (Chinese: 中正紀念堂) is a national monument, landmark and tourist attraction erected in memory of Chiang Kai-shek, former President of the Republic of China. It is located in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan.
The monument, surrounded by a park, stands at the east end of Liberty Square. The structure is framed on the north and south by the National Theater and National Concert Hall.
In February 2017 Taiwan's Ministry of Culture announced plans to transform the hall into a national center for “facing history, recognizing agony, and respecting human rights.” A corresponding de-emphasis of the Chiang personality cult is underway as proposals for transforming the hall are reviewed.
The square became Taipei's site of choice for mass gatherings as soon as it opened. The nature of many of those gatherings gave the site new public meanings. The hall and square became the hub of events in the 1980s and early 1990s that ushered Taiwan into its era of modern democracy. Of the many pro-democracy demonstrations that took place at the square, the most influential were the rallies of the Wild Lily student movement of 1990. The movement provided the impetus for the far-reaching political reforms of President Lee Teng-hui. These culminated in the first popular elections of national leaders in 1996.
The site's importance in the development of Taiwan's democracy led to the plaza's dedication as Liberty Square by President Chen Shui-bian in 2007.[2] Memorial Hall was also renamed in a dedication to democracy. The announcement of the new names were greeted with hostility by Kuomintang officials. The original dedication to Chiang was subsequently restored to the hall by President Ma Ying-jeou, while the name Liberty Square was affirmed by officials across political parties.
In 2017, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the February 28 Incident and the 30th anniversary of the lifting of martial law, Taiwan's Ministry of Culture announced plans to transform the hall into a national center for “facing history, recognizing agony, and respecting human rights.” Scholars and experts were invited to form an advisory group to help plan the hall's transformation.
The Chinese inscription now over the main gate declares the plaza Liberty Square. The calligraphic style recalls that of Wang Xizhi in the East Jin Dynasty (see Chinese calligraphy). The style is noted for its sense of vitality, movement and freedom. The characters in the inscription are placed in left-to-right sequence to follow modern practice in Taiwan. The right-to-left order of ancient Chinese tradition had been adopted at the site previously.
