Guiyang Gaopo, a relaxing place not afar
Starting from Guiyang to drive about 1 hour, the altitute will suddenly rise from 1,000 meters to 1,500 meters. This is Gaopo (高坡), meaning high slope. There are all kinds of karst landforms with limestones everywhere. It's also a great place to watch sunrise or sunset as sunlights shining through scattered windmills. (credit: 易木三)
Breakfast in GuiYang City China 贵阳清晨
I did this video is for showing you a real city life on this nice sunny day.
Summer is cool in GuiYang, spring is coming.
I had an authentic breakfast in a local restaurant. The owner is so hospitalized and passionate about his work. Be honest, the local accent is a little bit difficult to understand. When a ladybug saw me eating the tofu in the wrong way, she is very nice to help me by showing me how to eat it. The breakfast cost me about 2.50$ us.
The salary in GuiYang is not high compared to eastern China. Around 500-600$ us per month. And the price of the goods is more expensive than I thought.
It’s not that developed, but it’s famous for its landscape and cool weather.

Artist Builds 20 Hectare Castle in Karst Valley in Southwest China
A Chinese artist has built a sprawling 20-hectare castle in a karst valley in Guiyang, southwest China's Guizhou Province.
Yelang Valley was created over the course of 20 years by 76-year-old Song Peilun using the geological advantages of the area's karst terrain.
I want to represent the culture, folk tradition and customs including the ancient architecture, lifestyle and the beliefs of our ancestors in Guizhou from thousands of years ago, said Song.
The artist said that the castle is in some ways the embodiment of his imagination of Yelang, an ancient political entity first described in the 3rd century B.C., which primarily covered the south and west of modern-day Guizhou Province.
Featuring cultural elements unique to the ancient Yelang, the totem pillars and sculptures of various sizes were using rocks, stone and other materials available on the land.
I chose to build the castle here because I thought the rocks could be used in the construction. I just used what was offered by the land, and it also saved costs, said Song.
Many local villagers worked on the project with Song over the years. His perseverance and dedication to the revival of ancient culture won the support of the local government.
Yelang Valley and Song's story were featured in domestic media reports, which attracted many tourists who wanted to see the castle.
He must have built the castle wholeheartedly. It is a wonderful creation. He must have dedicated a lot to the castle, said a tourist.
