Wuchang Hubu Alley - Famous Food Street at Wuhan
Satisfy you hunger at Hubu Alley, a bustling food district packed with mouth watering local dishes. The alley stretches for approximately 150 m (500 ft), so it's generally one of the city's most crowded spots--especially at meal times. Taste a vast array of delicious local specialties, including hot dry noodles, fried rice, wontons, mianwo (Chinese doughnut), tofu jelly, and fried fish.

Street Food in Wuhan, China and the People that Make It // Along the Yangtze Day 7
Wuhan has a reputation for tasty breakfasts. After eating a feast of street foods, I've proven that this reputation is warranted . I try the highly popular re gan mian or hot dry noodles. I stuff my face with san xiang dou pi or 3 flavor tofu skin. I crunch down on a mian wo. And so much more.
When night falls, I head to the night market for more street food including some local specialties. Overall, it was an amazingly delicious day and it made me re-think Chinese breakfasts.

BEST STREET FOOD in WUHAN, CHINA (VEGAN)

Street food is...SO GOOD!!! All kidding aside, I absolutely love street food. It is a great way to experience the local cuisine, eat on a low budget, and can be good for dietary restrictions.
During our travels in China we were based out of Wuhan, and were really able to explore the street food scene there. These are our TOP 5 favorite street foods that Wuhan has to offer. Many of these can be found around China, but some are specific to Wuhan and Hubei Province.
1. Reganmian, or Hot Dry Noodles is Wuhan's breakfast specialty and it is amazing. Delicious noodles with a hefty helping of sesame, soy and spice. It can be found all over the city in most noodle shops.
2. Fried Spiced Potatoes are small round morsels of deliciousness. My favorite place to get them is in Hubu Alley in Wuhan.
3. Chinese Pancake (Congyoubing), this scallion bread is thin and crispy and can be found all over China.
4. Vegetable Fried Rice from a street cart is one of the best dinners you can get on the go in China. In addition to the rice most carts also have fried noodles as an option. Our favorite cart was on Sanjiaohu Road across the from Jianghan University in Hangyang.
5. Trash Can Bread (Guo Kui) this is also easy to find all over China. Our favorite shop (Jing Zhou Guo Kui) was in Hangyang, near the Tingtao Guanhai Shop (also search Yangji Home Cooking in a maps app), a bit off the beaten path.
Thanks for watching!

When Wuhan Metro opened in September 2010, Wuhan became the fifth Chinese city with a metro system (after Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Guangzhou).[40] The first 10.2 kilometres (6.3 mi)-long line (10 stations) is an elevated rail (and therefore called 'light rail' in Chinese terminology). It runs from Huangpu to Zongguan in the downtown area of the Hankou District, and it is the first one in the country to use a communication-based train control system (a Moving Block signalling system, provided by Alcatel). The designed minimum interval is only 90 seconds between two trains and it features driverless operation. Phase 2 of this line will extend the length to 28.8 km (17.90 mi) with 26 stations in total. It plans to start revenue service on July 28, 2010.
=====================
Metro Line 2 opened on December 28, 2012, extending total system length to 56.85 km (35.32 mi). This is the first Metro line crossing the Yangtze River (Chang Jiang).
=======================
Line 4 opened on December 28, 2013, connecting Wuhan Railway Station and Wuchang Railway Station. All three main railway stations of the city were connected by the metro lines. Plans also exist to extend the metro's Line 2 to Wuhan Tianhe Airport by 2015.

Wuhan has seven bridges and one tunnel across the Yangtze River. The Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, also called the First Bridge, was built over the Yangtze River (Chang Jiang) in 1957, carrying the railroad directly across the river between Snake Hill (on the left in the picture below) and Turtle Hill. Before this bridge was built it could take up to an entire day to barge railcars across. Including its approaches, it is 5,511 feet (1,680 m) long, and it accommodates both a double-track railway on a lower deck and a four lane roadway above. It was built with the assistance of advisers from the Soviet Union.
