Hudson Inside Out
Inside out is a non-narrative tour of Hudson River State Hospital. Using a drone and a digital SLR, we behold the highest and lowest views of this sprawling campus and everywhere in-between.
The former hospital was it's own self-contained village of sorts (Powerplant, plumbing building, golf course, fire house, car wash, etc) . But the main focus of this video is the historical Kirkbride building located on the upper campus. This is just a glimpse into the Hospital.

The people living there have been cut off from water and power, the company has offered them housing in a new area but they refuse to leave.. today we explored this area.

A Hollywood actress with roots in the Hudson Valley is among the dozens facing charges in connection to a nationwide college entrance and recruiting cheating scheme. The indictments are against nearly 50 people. Desperate Housewives Star Felicity Huffman, who was born in Westchester, is among those involved facing charges. Officials say all of the parents knew their kids were cheating on their ACTs or SATS or making false sports profiles to gain admission.
A new movie theater is getting ready to open in the Hudson Valley. Last August, Regal Cinemas inside the Hudson Valley Mall in Kingston closed for good. NGC Cinema purchased the space and is renovating it to feature recliner chairs and assigned seating. The company’s website says they offer luxury seats, free refills on soda and popcorn and affordable tickets. No opening date has been set, but the website says its opening in April.
A truck caught fire in the Dutchess County after driving over a downed power line. Icy and snowy conditions Sunday morning caused a power line to fall across Spackenkill Road in the town of Poughkeepsie. Video taken at the scene shows the truck engulfed in flames while loud popping and buzzing sounds can be heard. Police say the driver somehow managed to get free without any injuries.
An acclaimed Hudson Valley Italian cannoli maker is opening up their own bakery and cafe. The Mamma Musetti Cafe is scheduled to open next month on East Main Street in the Village of Wappingers Falls. The bakery will feature Italian cookies, cannoli cheesecake and of course Mamma Musetti's famous cannolis, in many flavors. While the café will serve breakfast and lunch.
There's a gigantic fish roaming the Hudson River near Dutchess County. Researchers have been using equipment to track creatures in the waterway. National Geographic reports that a 14-foot sturgeon, weighing nearly one-thousand pounds, was discovered in the river around Hyde Park. However, if you're hoping to see the creature yourself, researchers say since the discovery in June, there haven't been any sightings of the monster.

Saint Catherine Street (French: rue Sainte-Catherine) (11.2 km or 7.0 mi) is the primary commercial artery of Downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It crosses the central business district from west to east, beginning at the corner of Claremont Avenue and de Maisonneuve Boulevard in the city of Westmount, traversing the borough of Ville-Marie, and ending on Notre-Dame Street just east of Viau Street in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

The street runs parallel to the largest segments of Montreal's underground city. The series of interconnected office tower basements and shopping complexes that make up this main thoroughfare lie immediately north of the street.
Educational institutions located on or near the street include Concordia University, McGill University, Université du Québec à Montréal, Dawson College and LaSalle College.
St. Catherine Street has been home to many of Montreal's prominent department stores, including such former retailers as Eaton's, Morgan's, Simpson's and Dupuis Frères. Today, the Henry Morgan Building is home to Hudson's Bay Company, which acquired Morgan's in 1960. The Simpson's building is now shared by the Simons department store and a multiplex cinema, while Eaton's was converted to the Complexe Les Ailes. Dupuis Frères, located further east at St. Catherine and St. Hubert, is now a shopping mall and office complex.
The Ogilvy's department store remains a fixture on St. Catherine Street, although it is now a collection of boutiques rather than a single store.
Other major retailers along the street including an Apple Store, AVEDA Experience Centre, Indigo Books and Music, Archambault, La Senza, Best Buy, Roots, Adidas, Puma, Guess, Parasuco, Zara, Mango and an H&M flagship store at the corner of Peel and St. Catherine. Additionally, many of Montreal's most prominent shopping complexes, including the Eaton Centre, Complexe Les Ailes, Place Montreal Trust, Promenades Cathédrale, les Cours Mont-Royal (a high fashion shopping mall), the Complexe Desjardins, Place Dupuis, Place Alexis Nihon, the Faubourg Sainte-Catherine and Westmount Square are all located along the street.
The Montreal Forum, once home to the Montreal Canadiens, is also located on St. Catherine Street at Atwater Street. It has since been turned into a shopping and movie theatre complex called the Pepsi Forum. Due to the Forum's presence on this street, St. Catherine was used as the parade route whenever the Canadiens won the Stanley Cup. This was once referred to as the usual route by Mayor Jean Drapeau, during the Canadiens' dynasties of the mid-century, when a win would occur quite frequently. Hochelaga-Maisonneuve

Abandoned Ontario Star Wars Mansion with thousands of dollars in Star Wars merchandise inside
Located along a nondescript road in Somewhere, Ontario is a large home that you wouldn't take a second glance at. An urban explorer however might see a few telltale signs that this property bears closer inspection.
Thanks to two curious explorers named Urbex Carlo and Ethan, this fantastic gem was circulated through trusted friends this summer.
As you walk inside the main foyer you'll notice that mail has piled up to about three feet in height from the mail slot. The kitchen has been tossed through, most of the drawers are open and items scattered on the floor.
A couple of unopened Star Wars figures on the counter are a prelude of what's yet to come.
As you enter the dining room you're immediately overwhelmed by what you're seeing... Star Wars merchandise. Boxes and boxes of unopened Star Wars merchandise. In fact you can't even take a footstep without stepping on memorabilia. It's piled two to three feet high in places.
In the office, there are shelves of more new-in-box Star Wars merchandise and other sci-fi items. There are old cameras, lenses, binoculars and a professional video camera.
It looks like someone has used the house for online retail purposes. There are boxes of new shoes and racks of clothing. Paperwork in the upstair's office reveals receipts for online auction sales.
There's an original X-wing fighter which is worth $30 in good condition. This one is missing part of the ship's weapon. If it were new in box, it would be $300. In fact most of the merchandise is from the newer generation of Star Wars not the original. A few pieces are valuable such as the Stormtrooper replica guns ($500) and the Yoda figure ($500 to $1000).
In the basement there are more unopened Star Wars boxes on couches. In a separate basement room there are hundreds more unopened goods.
Some estimates say this house's contents are worth $100,000. I'm a little more conservative and would say it's probably closer to $25,000 to $30,000.
Now I know what you're thinking and what you're going to comment: I'd take that home Well as this property worked its way from explorer to explorer, the very fact that the items didn't get hauled out in mass amounts demonstrated the amount of trust we have with one another.
Of all the time capsules I've explored, this one ranks in the top four due to the sheer awesomeness of the contents inside. It's not an old era house, but one with younger generation memorabilia inside.
