iSpani 6 - Episode 48: Chocolatier
Andrea Theunissen has big dreams despite coming from a small town. She has set her sights on a career with a sweet centre, a chocolatier. Inspired by Franschhoek-based Huguenot Fine Chocolate owners Denver and Danny she is ready to learn the trade. Being a chocolatier means taking basic chocolate, the very best is imported from Switzerland and Belgium, and crafting it into a variety of hand-made chocolates by melting it in a special machine and worked into our favourite taste sensations by a variety of different processes. In a highly competitive luxury market, fillings have to be invented while interesting shapes require moulds to be created. But the real art of the chocolatier lies in creating an attractive, tasty and appealing range that will please discerning customers. To find out more about this career join us on ispani.co.za.
