Huizhou Ancient City | She County | China（歙县 - 徽州古城）
Huizhou ('Hui' in short), a historical region on the boundary between today's Anhui and Jiangxi Provinces, consists of six counties - Shexian, Yixian, Xiuning, Qimen, Jixi and Wuyuan. Huizhou Ancient City is the core scenic area of Shexian County in Huangshan and features a distinctive local culture. It is also the birthplace of the Huizhou merchants, a famous business group in China that flourished in the late Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644). It is one of China's four well-preserved old cities, together with Lijiang Old Town (in Yunnan Province), Ancient City of Pingyao (in Shanxi Province), and Langzhong Ancient City (in Sichuan Province).

許國石坊又名大學士坊,俗稱八腳牌樓,明萬曆十二年(1584)建坊,石質為礫凝灰岩(茶園青石,又稱黟縣青),八柱口字形平面,南北長11.56米.南,北二面依二柱三樓式,東,西二面依四柱三樓沖天柱式,結構穩固,造型豐滿.石坊施以仿木構建築彩繪的雕飾,圖案典雅,刀法嫻熟.許國石坊是徽州石牌坊中最傑出的代表,綜合體現了石坊建造技藝的最高水平,其四柱三樓沖天式石坊形制,垂明清數百年,在石坊建築史上佔有突出地位,全國獨一無二.
歙縣徽州古城往斗山街 Huizhou Ancient City, Shexian (China)
在歙縣也有一條老街,名曰“斗山街”.不過它和屯溪老街是完全不同的兩種風格,屯溪老街是一條商業街,而斗山街是一條居民街.斗山街因形似北斗星狀而得名,建於明清時期,街長300多米,集古民居,古街,古雕,古井,古牌坊於一體,並濃縮了徽派建築的主要特色,以許,汪,楊,王四大家宅為主要代表,氣勢恢宏,造型古樸,雕飾精緻,自成一格,是古徽商的群居地.

Or considered the creative process behind every aspect that goes into making a good documentary? 18 students from San Francisco State University’s renowned film school had the opportunity to dig down deep and produce documentaries during a life changing three-week journey to Huizhou, China.
For many, this was their first trip to a country where misconceptions were quickly dismantled. From meeting local families to exploring art studios, opera houses and health centers and learning traditions like the art of tea drinking, the students were overwhelmed by their experience and the rich stories they witnessed.
With only three weeks to produce 4 short documentaries see what these next generation storytellers experienced in their journey. For many, it was not only the experience of crafting a well-told story; it was a game changer in comparing and contrasting American ideals with Chinese cultural traditions.
