Изюминка Human House: чем привлекает туристов известный дизайнерский магазин Ташкента

Заканчиваем эту неделю историй мы сюжетом о Human House - об уникальном дизайнерском магазине в Ташкенте, где на продаже одежд и предметов декора спектр услуг не заканчивается.
Считается это заведение, пожалуй, одним из самих туристоориентированных мест узбекской столицы. И знаете почему? Потому что это не просто магазин, а целый культурный центр. Посудите сами, здесь каждый понедельник бесплатно проходит показ фильмов, периодически бывают встречи с интересными личностями, часто организовываются мастер-классы по различным ремесленным искусствам, проходят показы мод и многое другое.
И, естественно, мимо такого занимательного места пройти никто не может. А раз все же зашел, без приобретения хотя бы шарфика выйти не получится никак, ведь от выставляемых уникальных и эксклюзивных товаров глаза разбегаются только так.
Подобный подход к бизнесу, кстати, может стать хорошим примером и для таджикских владельцев магазинов.

Uzbekistan - Culture & Traditions

Uzbekistan is a country in Central Asia, once a crucial 'hub' on the Silk Road. This is the region's cradle of culture for more than two millennia, where cities like Samarkand and Bukhara evoke images of once great empires. Rulers like Genghis Khan and Timur, however ruthless their rule, seem to resonate in many corners of Uzbekistan. Before becoming part of the Russian empire in the 19th century, Uzbekistan was conquered by nomads who spoke Eastern Turkic languages, which is the foundation of today's Uzbek language.

In the 20th century, Uzbekistan became part of the Soviet Union until it collapsed in the early 90s. Surprisingly, many people have managed to hold on to their traditional culture, despite the long Russian influence. Islam is still the main religion, and the vast majority of the population are Muslim.

In 2013, I traveled across Uzbekistan, visiting places like Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent, and the Fergana Valley. Despite the current political and economic situation in the country, the Uzbek people I met remained good spirited, and showed an incredible hospitality.

The people of Uzbekistan are the main theme in this clip, at work, in restaurants, in busy bazaars, and other places.

Street Food in Kenya - ULTIMATE KENYAN FOOD TOUR in Nairobi | East African Food Tour!

Thank you for watching this ultimate Kenyan street food tour in Nairobi! I met up with my friend James who took me around to a few of his favorite spots to eat.

Kawangware, Nairobi, Kenya

Here's most of the food we tried on this amazing tour of Nairobi:

Ann Restaurant - Dagoretti Corner - This small street food stall on Dagoretti Corner in Nairobi serves all sorts of Kenyan / East African foods. Their chapatis are especially good, and their Lake Victoria sardines fried with tomatoes.

Matumbo - stomach stew
Githeri - beans and maize
The guy sitting across the table - “you should not eat beans and sardines together, or you’ll have gas.”
Total bill - 1,050 KES ($10.39) - we paid for 4 or 5 guys eating there

Stomach Clinix - This was the best food stop of the day, a neighborhood meat shop that James took me to that specializes in cow head soup. The grilled tongue was also spectacular, but the soup was the best.
Total price - 200 KES ($1.98)

Dagoretti Market - After the meat, we took a walk over to Dagoretti Market. After browsing around for a while, we stopped for another plate of mixed Kenyan food, mostly dengu, which are mung beans. It was simple, but quite good.

Unity Cafe Hotel - We met up with some of James' friend in Kawangware, and went to eat across the street from their shoe shop. The mandazi mix was the highlight of this Kenyan meal.
Total price - 600 KES ($5.94) for all

Cow foot fry - Next we headed over to Oscar who makes cow food soup, fry and boil. He was a very friendly man, and showed me his entire process of making cow foot soup. It was delicious!
Total price - 450 KES ($4.45)

Kenyan street food - To end this Kenyan street food tour of Nairobi we had to eat one of the ultimate Kenyan fast food meat treats. You'll see these types of grills all over the streets in the late afternoon throughout Nairobi. You just choose what you want, it's cut on the chopping board, and you stand and eat.

Our last stop on our 10-day tour of Madagascar brought us to a small village on the southeast coast. We spent the day with a local tribe, Antemoro and participated in a rare ritual, a ritual that the village hadn’t experienced in 5 years. Zebus are the most prized livestock in Madagascar, brought to the island 1,000 years ago from east Africa. As part of the zebu ritual, the entire village comes together, give thanks to the zebu before sacrificing it and feeding 100+ people. The fat hump is the most prized part of the zebu.

Pham Ngu Lao nightlife is also one of Ho Chi Minh’s finest, with throngs of street vendors, bia hoi stalls, lively bars, and downtown clubs filling up the lively scene. Interesting nightlife entertainment spots include The View Rooftop Bar, Seventeen Saloon, Go 2 and Crazy Buffalo Nightclub as well as many smaller pubs that are known for their cheap drinks and happy hour promos. It’s also common around here to meet friendly expats who are more than happy to share a few tips about travelling in and beyond Vietnam. If you want to immerse yourself in the local culture, we highly suggest getting up early and visit the parks within the area. It is interesting to see (and even to join in on) the elders participating in Tai Chi-like exercise sessions. Another must-do is heading to the morning markets such as Ben Tanh Market, where local vendors sell a wide array of fresh produce, household supplies, and Vietnamese street food at attractive prices. As Pham Ngu Lao is not such a large area, it’s the perfect place to explore on foot - the best time to do this is in the morning and late afternoon as the weather can be rather scorching at the height of the day. If you’re feeling adventurous, there are also travel agencies that can help arrange for day trips within the city centre and beyond...

1. KOROWAI COMPOUND: Nibun + Sago Grub + Sago Beatles + River Fish + Pica
Address: Near Dekai, Papua, Indonesia

NIBUN: Cut down wild palm tree and scoop out white liquid in the middle.

SAGO GRUB + BEATLES: Retrieve food from dead sago tree. Grill sago grubs and beetles on open fire.

SAGO GRUB (Pizza): Lay out grata leaves. Spread dried sago into a circle. Spread pica into a circle on top of sago. Place ripped up jo (fern) on top of both. Sprinkle more of the pica on top of jo. Rip heads off grubs and split in half. Then throw them on top of powders and fern. Add more fern. Add more pica on top. Wrap in grata leaves, placing hot stones in the leaves and bundle it all together, tying it with twine. Place on the fire with stone on top. Allow it to cook for 35-45 minutes.

RIVER FISH: Lay out grata leaf and spread pica over it. Lay river fish in the middle. Fold up and secure with twine. Place on fire with hot stones and allow to cook.

SAGO GRUBS + PICA: Spread pica in a leaf. Rip sago grubs in half and place on top of pica. Place more pica on top. Wrap up and place on fire until cooked.

Saute minced pork in a skillet until fully cooked. Boil quail/eggs in a separate pot. To assemble: Add cooked noodles, lean pork slices, shrimp, boiled eggs, and sliced chives in a bowl. Pour in stock and then top with fried garlic. Enjoy with soy sauce and fresh bean sprouts.

????STIR-FRIED BUGS: Clean the bugs and then place peanuts inside them. Deep fry with a mixture of oil, garlic, fish sauce and MSG.

????STEAMED RATS WITH CASSAVA: Pour coconut water in a pot, add cassava and salt and cook. Pour out the coconut water and place the rats inside the pot. Cook the rats with the cassava until it is ready.

????RATS BBQ: Season the rats with shacha sauce, fish sauce and MSG and then grill on charcoal.

????ROASTED BIRDS (Swallow & Coucal): Clean the birds and then season with garlic, MSG and fish sauce. Fry garlic in a hot pan with oil. Deep fry the birds until they are golden brown.
