Almonte, Ontario Is seeing another piece of history on the verge of passing. A number of years ago the Last train tracks were ripped up, at a time when we really needed a cost effective method of transportation to Ottawa, Go figure they are building light rail now. Well today its all about adding, yet another power generating station to an already over damed area. Just a few years ago they revamped and built the new power system just a few hundred yards down from the bridge I'm standing on taking this shot. There is a smaller system already where they are wanting to destroy this and build yet another and why? because someone wants to make money. We do not need this here its all about making a few people a pile of money and the area being destroyed so they can make some coin. There is No need for this to happen but the mighty Buck rules and I'm sure it buys them more toys. And the local environment suffers. Hats of to the supporters and sympathy to the kids that will lose their swimming hole
