40yearsofRama Surf Classic
40 years of Rama and the Bunbury Back Beach Surf Classic Invitational was held on August 15 2015. To celebrate Ash Ramsay turning 40 a competitive field of 24 surfers came together on the warmest August day in 20 years to challenge for the Dingo trophy and take out the inaugural SW surf Classic. What a day, some great conditions, great surfing and fun had by all. Ben Marllier, a spatial analyst for Department of Water in Perth, he thrived in the small clean Bunbury surf. Not dropping a heat all day he won the final by a half a point from Mr Andrew Mason Bland a local school teacher at GMAS and former DoW employee. In fact 3/4 of the field were DoW employees. There were also some junior competitors Oliva Tilley, Eamon Ramsay and Logan Turner how took on the big boys with Oli creating a huge upset and progressing straight to the QF winning his first heat. Not bad for 7 year old. Enjoy the action.
Bagged out on Skippy with the Old Man in Bunbury, Western Australia
Weather was too good not to have a putt around in the drink for a nice little morning sesh with my OldMan. Some people turn their noses up when it comes to Skippy but we both don't mind some fresh Skippo in beer batter. The local dive boat had broken down just inside the rock wall on the way in and we were able to help em out and get them to their mooring all safe n sound.

Bunbury and her Charm (Western Australia)
Head south towards Bunbury, should you find the beaches in the City of Perth a bit overcrowding. The coast south of Perth has a gentler and softer appearance than those harsh landscapes that are in the north. Bunbury is easily accessible via the Westrail or any other means of transport on four-wheels. Bunbury is a port, an industrial town and definitely a holiday resort. Water sports activities abounds. You'll find lovely beaches and resorts in this place. Hmmn! You'll definitely enjoy the quietness, the transquility and the luxury of a beautiful beach (like privately-owned) before your eyes. Come to the Hungry Hollow Beach, the Leschenault Quays and the Koombana Bay and you'll understand the enchanting charm of Bunbury. The unassuming sightings of the dolphins frolicking in the waters, the trying experience of the 'unknown' at the 'Maze' in the Big Swamp Wildlife Park and definitely not forgetting the attractions of the informative Dolphin Discovery Centre. Lastly, Bunbury is the place where the blue manna crabs - a gourmet's delight are found. You've to come at the Right Time, Or else once the season is over, you've miss it and then you've to wait for the next season. Better luck guys!!Come and visit Bunbury and discover more of her charm.
