Mustering the Cattle - New Zealand South Island
Working on the farm in the off season for the trekking. One of the important jobs on farm is TB testing the cattle. Here we are mustering and TB testing our Hereford cows and calves. Malt the Huntaway working hard to keep the day on track.

Part 1 mustering wild bulls in Northland New Zealand
WARNING - SOME SWEARING
AA musterers - These guys are hired to muster wild cattle all over New Zealand and they are good at what they do. These catlle are usually BIG, WILD and DANGEROUS! This is DAY 1 in the far North. Chris McGarry, Johnny Bolton, Terry Gordon - These guys have a business called AA Musterers and are contracted to round up wild cattle that have gone ferral. This is fun but dangerous!! The morning was spent fixing up the yards and then after lunch the dogs were let off and it wasn't long before we came across the first mob... Rodeo? HELL YEAH! If some of the footage is a bit rough it's because it is NOT EASY to ride a horse AND film AND keep out of the way of the snotty bull! AWESOME FUN and very Kiwi :)
AWESOME Music is by local artists: Steve Shaw from his album SMALL STEP and The Outlaws from their album OLD STONES. Thanks guys to these musicians who allowed me to use these tracks Buy their albums folks!

Sheep Herding in NZ
While eating lunch at Seafood BBQ in Kaikoura, we got treated to some sheep-herding. I didn't have a video camera, so I took some rapid shots and put it together...kinda stop-motion-ish, but you get the idea.

North Opuha Track - North Opuha Conservation Area, Canterbury NZ
Getting there:
The North Opuha Conservation Area is 30 km NW of Fairlie, opposite the Fox Peak Skifield Area, South Canterbury.
Follow the Lochaber Road past Lake Opuha. Cross the North Opuha Bridge and turn left to continue down Fox Peak Skifield Road.
At the end of the road, just before the bridge leading to the skifield, is a car park.
From the carpark, walk up the road and then along the true left bank of the North Opuha River. After leaving the river a marked easement across freehold land (no hunting on easement) gives access to the upper North Opuha Conservation Area. The easement is for foot, mountain-bike or horse only.

Mel Will Hitch Us a Ride Back (NZ Part 9)
What started as a dreary morning turned into one of the most beautiful days of our trip. Which ended up being perfect for our horse trekking at Walter Peak High Country Farm, across from Queenstown. The only downfall, I found out that I was allergic to hourses (thumbs down). After we went to Fergburger for one of the best lunches we had in New Zealand. Then Mel and I, joined by our new friend, had an adventure trying to make it to a local festival. After a little fail, we ended up going back downtown to the local bars. Another successful day in Queenstown!

A day in a high country sheep station in New Zealand ニュージーランドでの羊の放牧の一日体験
Spent a day at a high country sheep station in Glenorchy, NZ, moving a herd of sheep from a mountain to another. Basically walked up a hill looking for a herd, then brought them down a slope, crossed a couple of creeks then walked them up another mountain, then left them in peace high up there. Hope you'll enjoy it! Personally I love the shots of sheep crossing creeks!
