Just like being there. Husavik Adventures Inc., Humpback, Fin, and Minke Whales. Excursion in Northern Iceland on Skjálfandi Bay which translates to Trembling bay because of the many earthquakes there. We camped out at Husavik campground in the town center. We thought the Rib boats are better because they are more agile, smaller passenger size. Better opportunity to get close to the whales. Have fun!!!!

A short flying session when I was on a trip to Iceland. We were passing one road at Husavik and I feel I really have to fly there and capture the beautiful sunset.

Iceland Whale Watching Husavik
Near the end of whale watching season, december 13, 2018, in Husavik, northern Iceland , when all other whale watching cruise operators in Husavik have already stopped their season, North Sailing still offered just one cruise, at 10h30 AM, with very short daytime and long nights and the Sun barely showing over the southern horizon... were we going to see any whales ?
it was not too windy, with overcast cloudy skies from southernly 'foehn' winds , so rather calm waters for the open bay...
The cruise lasted 3 hours. We saw just one distant whale , briefly, during the first 2 hours... and thought we would return empty handed... and then... WOW !
THANKS North Sailing, you are awesome !
that said, I am sure the other whale watching operators are great, too. ;-)
filmed with a Sony AX53 ( great image stabilization and strong zoom lens and slomo ).
travelled to Iceland just for a few days to see the northern lights coinciding with the Geminid Meteor shower. Will definately return again .
