Huye Mountain Coffee Tour
If you love coffee then you’re in the right country! Rwanda has some seriously good beans and they don’t have to travel far to find their way into your cup which means they’re about as fresh as they can get! But, despite living here for years, I’d really never heard of any opportunities to learn about coffee production here. It all seemed to be tea, tea, and more tea with the Sorwathe Tea Plantation people leading the way with their on-site accommodation and factory tours. But, little did I know, that a mere two hours away just outside of Huye (Butare) lies the Huye Mountain Coffee Company who run a pretty great little coffee tour that will give you the low-down on coffee production in Rwanda.

Huye Mountain Coffee Tour
Check out our tour of Huye Mountain Coffee. Located in Huye, Rwanda this coffee plantation and processing facility is literally located on a small mountain. During the tour we were able to walk through the plantation, roast our own coffee beans on the mountain, and finally sample some coffee!

The day I went to visit a Rwandan Coffee Plantation || Random Vlog
I went to visit a coffee plantation by Juru Coffee. The trip was pretty long, through many unpaved roads but it was definitely worth it.

Let's Talk Coffee Rwanda
The Relationship Coffee Institute, Sustainable Harvest's non-profit arm, has been selected by Bloomberg Philanthropies to bring its innovative economic Relationship Model of development to low-income rural women based in Rwanda. Over a three-year period, this initiative will improve the livelihoods of 3,500 low-income women farmers through training that creates the basis for more transparent trade, improved quality and higher prices. Let's Talk Coffee: Rwanda is a training event which brings partners together for capacity building and connectivity.
