Hyde Park, NY
MC Travelers made a quick detour to Hyde Park, New York. We went to the Home of Franklin Delano Rosevelt Historic Site, where we saw FDRs home grounds and burial site. Then we drove 5 min up the street and drove through the Vanderbilt Home grounds. Both homes are very beautiful and worth a tour or at least a look around.

Driving Downtown - Hills Of San Francisco 4K - USA
Driving Downtown Neighborhoods - Nob Hill - San Francisco California USA - Episode 14.
Starting Point: California Street - . Neighborhood: Nob Hill - .
Nob Hill is a neighborhood in San Francisco, California. Nob Hill is an affluent district, home to many of the city's upper-class families as well as a large young urban professional population, and a growing Chinese immigrant population from Chinatown to the east. Nob is disparaging British slang abbreviation of noble/nobility referring to the monied, often titled upper-classes.
San Francisco
San Francisco (SF), officially the City and County of San Francisco, is the cultural, commercial, and financial center of Northern California. It is the most densely settled large city in the state of California and the second-most densely populated major city in the United States after New York City.
A popular tourist destination, San Francisco is known for its cool summers, fog, steep rolling hills, eclectic mix of architecture, and landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, the former Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, Fisherman's Wharf, and its Chinatown district. San Francisco is also the headquarters of five major banking institutions and various other companies such as Levi Strauss & Co., Gap Inc., Salesforce.com, Dropbox, Reddit, Square, Inc., Dolby, Airbnb, Weebly, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Yelp, Pinterest, Twitter, Uber, Lyft, Mozilla, Wikimedia Foundation, and Craigslist. It has several nicknames, including The City by the Bay, Fog City, San Fran, and Frisco, as well as older ones like The City that Knows How, Baghdad by the Bay, The Paris of the West, or simply The City. As of 2016, San Francisco is ranked high on world liveability rankings.
The last 20 years have seen two booms driven by the internet industry. First was the dot-com boom of the late 1990s, startup companies invigorated the San Francisco economy. Large numbers of entrepreneurs and computer application developers moved into the city, followed by marketing, design, and sales professionals, changing the social landscape as once-poorer neighborhoods became increasingly gentrified. Demand for new housing and office space ignited a second wave of high-rise development, this time in the South of Market district. By 2000, the city's population reached new highs, surpassing the previous record set in 1950. When the bubble burst in 2001, many of these companies folded and their employees were laid off. Yet high technology and entrepreneurship remain mainstays of the San Francisco economy. By the mid 2000s (decade), the social media boom had begun, with San Francisco becoming a popular location for tech offices and a popular place to live for people employed in Silicon Valley companies such as Apple and Google.
Economy
San Francisco has a diversified service economy, with employment spread across a wide range of professional services, including financial services, tourism, and (increasingly) high technology.
Tourism and Conventions
Tourism is one of the city's largest private-sector industries, accounting for more than one out of seven jobs in the city. The city's frequent portrayal in music, film, and popular culture has made the city and its landmarks recognizable worldwide.
Sports
Major League Baseball's San Francisco Giants have played in San Francisco since moving from New York in 1958. The San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL) were the longest-tenured major professional sports franchise in the city until moving in 2013.
Culture and Contemporary Life
Although the Financial District, Union Square, and Fisherman's Wharf are well-known around the world, San Francisco is also characterized by its numerous culturally rich streetscapes featuring mixed-use neighborhoods anchored around central commercial corridors to which residents and visitors alike can walk.
Beaches and Parks
Several of San Francisco's parks and nearly all of its beaches form part of the regional Golden Gate National Recreation Area, one of the most visited units of the National Park system in the United States with over 13 million visitors a year.

Travel Video - Los Angeles California with timelapses in 4K
This short travel video will give you an overview of 48 hours of Los Angeles (L.A.) in 120 seconds.
Including time-lapse video shot in 4K. This is the third installment of a series of travel videos about California.Los Angeles California Travel Video, experience two days in two minutes!
Check out this cool video to see many of attractions in Los Angeles in only 120 seconds:
Stop 3 on our tour of California:
Los Angeles was the third stop on our tour of California. The first two stops were in San Diego and La Jolla. However, we had two days to explore the City of Angeles and get some great footage and pictures.
We stayed near Manhattan Beach so our first stop was sharing a fresh New-York style pizza pie on the pier as the sun was setting. An old woman in a red sweatshirt spent the whole time going up and down the pier fishing. She made me nervous because she did overhead casting...quite dangerous for pedestrians walking past. It was cloudy, but the sunset was nice anyways.
Hollywood
Travel Video-California-Los angeles-HollywoodWe got a very early start and made it across town to Hollywood before anything was open. The big tour buses had yet arrived and it was nice but strange to be able to walk up and down the strip and taking touristy pics of the stars without having to compete with other tourists. I am not a fan of Hollywood but it was nice paying my respects to the great Robin Williams, RIP. Of course we walked by Chan's Theater and the Kodak Theater, but we did not have time to go to West Hollywood which seemed to have a mix of the seedy side of Hollywood and the posh Beverly hills.
Downtown L.A.
We were even early enough to get to downtown before rush hour to see the Union Station, the majestic L.A. City Hall, the Walk Disney Concert Hall building (featured in one of the timelapse videos) which was designed by Frank Gehry, the Broad building with a creative exterior, etc. (Note: it would have saved time going to downtown first, then Hollywood and on to Griffith Park.)
Griffith Observatory
We had to fight traffic to get back across town to the Griffith Park to see the Griffith Observatory and the views of L.A. from above, but we made it before lunch. The Observatory was not open that early so we just enjoyed having lunch while taking in the city (what could be seen through the gray haze :-). I got a couple good videos of the building and the view over the smog covered valley before taking off for our next destination.
Beverly Hills
After driving around the nice neighborhood for a few minutes we parked near Rodeo Drive and walked around Beverly Hills. It was primary voting day so there were cameras at the poling station to catch some rich and famous in the act. We enjoyed doing people watching as much as making fun of the crazy overpriced shops. The visit ended with a rest stop in a trendy organic juice shop that was a disaster... we had to wait almost half an hour for a juice and coffee, but the cups were biodegradable plastic, so we had that...
Santa Monica
It was a short drive down to the beach in Santa Monica. We did not know it but Barney Sanders was there and the MSNBC crew was shooting live from the Santa Monica Pier. Being in California for the primary election was exciting, but we were tourists... and it was just a side-show for us. After chilling on the beach for an hour we headed out for our last stop before heading back to the hotel...
Venice Beach
We got to Venice beach just before sunset so many of the shops were already closing down, the tourists were taking off for less colorful night-time locations and we felt like we had the Venice Beach freak-show all to ourselves. Muscle beach was already closed but we did get to see a Mexican pop band filming a music video and hang out at the skate park for the sunset and a cool time-lapse. The street art was a highlight, but it is a location that has already matured, with top street artists and a feeling that it was more trendy than edgy.
Malibu
After a quick dinner of Mexican food we crashed in the hotel and we were up bright and early to cross LA before the traffic and get into Malibu before anyone woke. The sky was gray and overcast...as is the norm for the California coastline in June and the views were not so spectacular. My favorite moment was seeing this classic car with a huge dog poking its' head out the window in a Jack in the Box parking lot... Sorry, no pics of Hollywood stars running along the beach in a bikini... maybe next time ;-)
If you have not seen it yet, check out the first video in the series: San Diego Travel Video, 24 hours in 60 seconds.
The second instalment: Next: Sea Kayaking with the Seals and Sea Lions in La Jolla California.
Next (part 4) Covers our stay in Monterrey... stay tuned!
See you soon!

The Allure And Grandeur Of Old New York
For the connoisseur of art, music and period architecture, 163 East 64th Street evokes the grandeur of Gilded Age homes such as the Frick and Carnegie mansions. 20 feet wide with 15 generously proportioned rooms, 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 3 half-baths, 8 fireplaces and paneled elevator. This splendid property is one of the most distinguished townhouses in Manhattan. It is located on one of the finest tree-lined townhouse blocks on the Upper East Side, offering easy access to the city's best restaurants, museums, art galleries, theaters, fine shops and boutiques. The house was built in 1872 by noted architect John G. Prague and later converted to a Neo-Georgian mansion with raked limestone and red clay brick façade, a gated forecourt and two entrances. The first two floors are built 87 feet deep, providing an unusually large footprint for grand entertaining. The ground floor offers an elegant entry hall, 2 powder rooms, private gym and professional eat-in kitchen with service stairs leading to the dining room and access to a lovely planted garden.
An elegant wrought iron winding staircase leads to the parlor floor featuring a wood paneled library, living room, bar atrium and formal dining room. Museum-quality features include 13 feet gesso ceilings, carved wood moldings, inlaid marble and parquet de Versailles floors. The next two floors are private retreats containing 5 large bedrooms with en-suite baths, all reflecting warmth and charm. The magical 400 square foot roof terrace is a tranquil sanctuary, both day and night. This is a large home with an opportunity to add over 1,000 square feet under current zoning law. Additional highlights include a state-of-the-art sound system, intercom and security systems, individual-room climate control, central air conditioning, a snow-melting blanket under the sidewalk and roof terrace, basement with laundry room, cedar closet, storage and a temperature-controlled wine cellar. The street with its historic bishop's crook lampposts, has been home to many notable families over the years and is beautifully maintained by an active and long-established block association.

Mylungpuppy is the channel of musician Ron Anderson. All music by
Ron Anderson.
I have been making avant-music for over forty years in a number of different projects; PAK, The Molecules, RonRuins, numerous collaborations and solo. I combine composition and improvisation exploring the regions where they intersect. Sometimes my music is brutal, but I’m not afraid of melody, in general my work is pretty much out there.
The main focus of my channel is music, but I also make vlogs on various subjects, cycling, touring and traveling, vegan food, rare vinyl LPs, audio field recordings, etc. Because not everyone is going to be interested in all the subjects covered on this channel, I have made playlists so you do not have to search through videos to find what you are looking for.
I try to answer questions and respond to as many comments as I can, any and all feedback from you is welcome.
I'm trying to make at least one or two new videos a week.

Driving Downtown Streets - Embarcadero - San Francisco California USA - Episode 88.
Starting Point: 4th Street - .
The Embarcadero is the eastern waterfront and roadway of the Port of San Francisco, San Francisco, California, along San Francisco Bay. It was constructed on reclaimed land along a three mile long engineered seawall, from which piers extend into the bay. It derives its name from the Spanish verb embarcar, meaning to embark; embarcadero itself means the place to embark. The Central Embarcadero Piers Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 20, 2002.

Reynolds was winner of an Emmy Award, Golden Globe Award and was nominated for the Academy Award for his supporting role in ‘Boggie Nights’. His immense talent earned him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was linked with many actresses romantically throughout his acting career and was married twice.
Childhood & Early Life
Burt Reynolds was born in Lansing, Michigan, to Burton Milo Reynolds, Sr. and Fern H. Reynolds. His father was a police chief of Riviera Beach and had also served in the US Army.
Reynolds studied at Palm Beach High School and after that attended the Florida State University on a college football scholarship.
He wanted to become a professional footballer but in the first season he was injured and had another injury in a car accident. This ended his hopes for a football career and after that he thought of becoming a police officer.
He went to the Palm Beach Junior in Lake Worth and it was there that one of his teachers asked him to take part in a play ‘Outward Bound’. He won a Florida State Drama Award for it.
------------------
Career
After getting his initial award in acting, Reynolds got a scholarship to work in Hyde Park Playhouse, a summer stock theatre, New York. He met with Joanne Woodward there who helped him finding an agent.
In 1953, he was cast in a play called ‘Tea and Sympathy’ at Neighborhood Playhouse, New York. He was critically appreciated for his performance and went on a tour to perform the play in various parts of the country.
In 1957, he got a part in the play ‘Mister Roberts’. His performance fetched him an audition for a movie called ‘Sayonara’. He was rejected for the role and was told to go and try in the Hollywood.
From 1959 to 1961, he starred in a television series ‘Riverboat’, an NBC series. He worked with Darren McGavin in it. This was offered to him right after he made his Broadway debut with ‘Look, We’ve Come Through’.

In 1961, Reynolds acted in his first movie called ‘Angel Baby’. After this movie, he was advised by his good friend and actor Clint Eastwood to act in low-budget movies that are made overseas and he did ‘Navajo Joe’.
Around this time, while he was acting in the low-budget foreign movies, Reynolds worked on two cop television shows called ‘Hawk’ and ‘Dan August’. But he was not happy with the limited creative scope of these shows.
In 1972, his breakthrough movie ‘Deliverance’ was released. It was an American Thriller movie directed by John Boorman, based on a novel written by American writer James Dickey, who also did a small role in the movie.
In 1973, he pursued his singing talent and came out with an album called ‘Ask Me What I Am’ and also sang a duet with Dolly Parton in ‘The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas’.
In 1977, Reynolds starred in the movie ‘Smokey and the Bandit’, along with Jerry Reed, Sally Field and Jackie Gleason. In the same year he turned down an offer to act in ‘Star Wars’.
In 1989, he starred in a successful venture called ‘Physical Evidence’, which was a much relief for him from the stereotypical and unsuccessful movies that he was offered after the success of ‘Smokey and the Bandit’.
First National Reunion of WWII Code Girls
The Library of Congress Veterans History Project (VHP) will host a reunion of a special group of changemakers—the women who served as top secret code breakers during World War II, more commonly known as “Code Girls.” This event is believed to be the first national reunion of these women, all of whom are nonagenarians. Guest speakers include “Code Girls” Nancy Tipton and Suzanne Embree, New York Times bestselling author Liza Mundy, and television personality Bill Nye, whose late mother was a “Code Girl.”
The “Code Girls” were originally recruited as young college students with high aptitudes in mathematics and linguistics, and are credited with cracking the secret codes that helped lead the United States to victory. Due to the sensitive nature of their work, the women’s achievements and patriotic service was at risk of being lost to history until Mundy, citing VHP collections and other sources, published her widely popular book, Code Girls: The Untold Story of the American Women Code Breakers of World War II (Hachette Books, 2017).
Shocking video shows brazen shooting in broad daylight in Fairfield
Warning: graphic content:
A 28-year-old man gunned down at a Fairfield gas station in March was apparently killed in a dispute over an engagement ring, and the brutal shooting was captured on store surveillance video.
Adarius Elon Williams, a father of four who celebrated a birthday the day before he was killed, died April 8 in the parking lot of the Citgo station on Milstead Road. Vincent Washington, 25, and Barbara Washington, 31, are charged with murder in Williams’ death. Additionally, Vincent Washington is charged with first-degree kidnapping because the woman who drove him to the gas station said she wanted to leave, and he threatened her with her life.
The Washington siblings, who lost their own sister to murder last year, are set to be in court this afternoon for their preliminary hearings. AL.com has obtained the store surveillance video of the killing, which shows a man with a towel wrapped around his head – identified by police as Vincent Washington – shoot Williams multiple times, nine of those shots fired almost point-blank after while Williams had already collapsed on the ground. Police have said Williams was not armed. According to police and court records, the brother and sister told a friend of Barbara Washington they would buy her gas if she drove them to the Citgo station that day. They were going to meet Williams because he wanted the engagement ring back that he had given to Barbara Washington. Williams’ fiancé at the time of his death was also with him at the gas station the day he was killed.
The friend drove them to the service station, but told police she didn’t know what was going to happen. Once they arrived there, Vincent Washington got out of the car with a towel wrapped around his head. When the friend realized something was amiss, she said she wanted to leave. At that point, according to court records, Vincent Washington told her, “(Expletive), if you drive off I’ll shoot you in the back of the head.”
The friend said she was afraid, and did what she was told to do. The video shows Washington and Williams arguing outside of the vehicle for about 12 seconds, and then Washington opens fire on Williams. Williams fell to the ground on his back, and Washington stood over him and fired nine more shots.
Witnesses on the scene gave a description of a white Nissan Altima leaving the area. They said the vehicle was occupied by two females and a male. A short time later, Bessemer police said, a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the stomach and the hand showed up at UAB West, and a white vehicle reportedly had brought him there.
Authorities confirmed that man – later identified as Vincent Washington - at the hospital was involved in the Fairfield shooting. About 8 p.m., Fairfield police spotted the white Altima and stopped the vehicle. Barbara Washington and another woman were taken into custody. The second woman wasn’t charged.
After the shooting, according to court records, Barbara Washington took the gun used in the slaying to a friend’s house to hide it.
At some point during the incident, Vincent Washington was also shot by someone trying to help Williams. Police have never said who shot the suspect. He spent several days in the hospital before he was released and booked into the Jefferson County Jail. Both of the siblings have remained jailed since then with bond set at $60,000.
Bill Veitch, the district attorney in Jefferson County’s Bessemer Cutoff, confirmed he has seen the video and said it shows the urgency needed in stopping the violence. “Any of us could have been out there at those gas pumps that day,’’ Veitch said. “This war on violence cannot be won unless the communities unite, tear down the walls that have built between us and see, hear and report.”
“It’s going to take a great deal of individual courage to become involved in this struggle,’’ he said. “Join with me and our law enforcement officers, our churches, our judges, to fight these heartless hoodlums. This video is graphic evidence of how great this epidemic has become.”

GOOD VIBRATIONS FELT ALONG BROADWAY
There's a new vibe on Broadway.
'Good Vibrations', the new musical set to the music of Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys and a book by Richard Dresser, is set to open at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre in the new year.
While the cast is made up of mostly new faces the songs will be very familiar to Beach Boys fans. 'Good Vibrations' features more than 30 songs by the group. The producers have been at pains to point out that this is not a revue of the Beach Boys' music, but an actual Broadway show.
The story follows the romantic misadventures of a group of small-town teenagers on a life-changing odyssey to the promised land: the beaches of Southern California.
Directed and choreographed by John Carrafa who was nominated for his work with 'Urinetown' and 'Into the Woods,' the musical stars Tituss Burgess as Eddie and David Larsen as Bobby, Kate Reinders as Caroline, Brandon Wardell as Dave and Jessica-Snow Wilson as Marcella.
Good Vibrations premiered at Vassar's Powerhouse Theatre in the summer, where it ran from July 29 through August 1. It is scheduled to begin previews at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre on December 4 in preparation for a January 13 opening.

Code Girls Reunion
New York Times bestselling author Liza Mundy discussed her book Code Girls: The Untold Story of the Women Code Breakers of World War II. Mundy used Library collections to provide her with overall background information and context when writing the book, and featured a few women veterans from the Library's Veterans History Project collections. That event, coupled with the book's increasing popularity, started a national conversation about these unsung women. Loved ones of the Code Girls reached out to the author, formed an unofficial online community and overwhelmingly agreed that it was time to draw attention to and preserve this important piece of American history. Code Girls who were uniformed members of the U.S. military or their surviving next-of-kin (including famed Science Guy Bill Nye) were asked to donate a collection to the Library as part of the event.

Impeachment trial of President Trump | Jan. 31, 2020 (FULL LIVE STREAM)
A crucial vote is anticipated Jan. 31 on whether to call witnesses in the Trump impeachment trial, including former national security adviser John Bolton. In a manuscript of his new book, Bolton reportedly says that Trump directly tied the holdup of nearly $400 million in military assistance to Ukraine to investigations of the Bidens.
Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Impeachment does not mean that the president has been removed from office. In the next phase, the Senate must hold a trial to make that determination. A Senate impeachment trial has happened only two other times in American history and once in the modern era. At the center of the Democrats’ case is that Trump sought to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting until Ukraine announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son.
