I have two grandchildren and I don't want my grandaughters to be sick. I wish that they have friends among Serbs, Croats Jews, Roma's and all others. It is easier for me to live with my pain and sorrow than it is for the criminal to live with his crimes. I would never switch places with him.
8. Set up of Frederick Swinnen Special advisor to the Prosecutor in ICTY
9. SOUNDBITE: (English) Frederick Swinnen, Special advisor to the Prosecutor:
I think what is important for our office is that he is here, that this appearance has taken place. The prosecutor has said it before our thoughts go first of all to, to the victims of the wars in 1990's. And what's important: some of them were in the courtroom and the prosecutor will meet with the victims this afternoon and I think again to express, to talk about this event. They have come all the way here... this is a moment they have waited long for. What's now what we have to wait for is the proceedings to move on and a trial to begin.

STORYLINE
Bosniaks congregated outside the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), in The Hague, on Friday, on the first day of the trial of former Bosnian Serb military chief General Ratko Mladic.
Rasim Toljan, a man who lost five family members during the war, said that the procedure should be fast, so that not a lot of money would be wasted.
It is easier for me to live with my pain and sorrow than it is for the criminal to live with his crimes. I would never switch places with him, said Munira Subasic, President of Mothers of Srebrenica Association:
The Special advisor to the Prosecutor of the ICTY said that it was an important day for international justice.
What's now what we have to wait for is the proceedings to move on and a trial to begin, Frederick Swinnen said
An argument erupted just outisde the court between some of the gathered Bosniaks and a Mladic supporter. Eventually, the Mladic supporter, who gave his name as Milo Dragoivic, was escorted away from the court by police.
