While you are traveling in Singapore, one of the places you have to go would be ION Sky. Personally, it is one of the must see thing in Singapore.
ION Sky is located in Orchard Road, within ION Orchard. ION Sky is the viewing deck on the 55th floor. It is the highest view you can get from a commercial building along the Asia famous shopping strip in Singapore.
To get to ION Sky, take the lift located behind the concierge counter on the 4th floor. The lift will bring you directly, no stops in between, to the 55th floor. It is open from 3pm – 6pm daily and fantastically, it is free entry. Do check for the blackout dates.
Once you are in ION Sky, the panoramic view of the city is captivating. On a clear day, the view seems to go on forever. You can catch sight of Marina Bay Area, Bugis Area and the Central Business District.
We were lucky as we manage to catch a rare glimpse of the night view. It was magical. The city lights really made the view magical. If you have the chance to visit ION Sky after sunset during your Singapore travel, don’t let the opportunity go.
ION Sky have one of the best night city view on this small city island of Singapore. You will love it.

Day 7 & 8 in Singapore!
Over day 7 and 8 we visited the ION Orchard shopping mall, and the ION Sky observatory! We also had some lazy time by the pool and went to the Hard Rock Cafe for mum's birthday.
The view from ION Sky was awesome, it was a little overcast the day we went, however it is free so I'd recommend a visit to anyone in the area. You can access the ION Sky elevator from the concierge on the fourth floor.

*DISCLAIMER: As of October 2018, entry to ION Sky is NO LONGER FREE OF CHARGE, instead a ticket for every S$20 spent in the mall is required to get in there... -___- (thanks to either PotatoLift1 or LiftyGames for this information). This video WAS recorded before that silly obligation was implemented. Very lucky I have managed to film these before they started charging people.
The most interesting part of these elevators is the illuminating bar on the button panel which tells the progress of the ride. Nice elevators, but unless you have a ticket to go up there, don't expect to get in and ride the elevators!
For some reason, the voices in these elevators are those generic Australian voices similar like Orchard Central. The elevators in the mall, however, have the typical generic Singaporean voices.

Singapore. ION Sky Observatory Deck. Great Panoramic City View
ION Sky is a spectacular observation deck in Singapore, located on the 56th floor of ION Orchard shopping mall, the tallest building on Orchard Road.
This deck at 280 metres above the ground attracts visitors to enjoy the panoramic 360 degrees view of Singapore’s city skyline. Small signs are printed on the windows to show people what they were looking at.
Just below ION Sky lies Salt Grill & Sky Bar, the perfect restaurant to indulge the senses and enjoy the tastiest culinary treats available.
ION Sky is open daily between 3pm and 6pm with the last admission at 5.30pm. To get to ION Sky, make your way to ION Art Gallery that is located on the 4th floor of ION Mall. From here, take a lift to the observatory deck.
To get admission tickets, simply purchase $20 worth of items inside Ion Orchard. Save the receipts! It can be an accumulation over different days and from different stores. $20 will get you one ticket. Once you have spent enough, just go to the fourth floor. There will be a huge info center near the lifts where you can trade in the receipts for the Ion Sky admission tickets. If you don't want to go to the observatory on the day that you show them the tickets that is fine too. They will just record it down that you have met the requirements and you can go back another day to visit the observatory.

ION SKY ORCHARD - BEST VIEW IN SINGAPORE
ION SKY SINGAPORE has the best view of overall city. You can get your complimentary ticket by just spending minimum 20sgd in one single receipt in Ion Orchard Mall. Then You have to download the ion orchard app to redeem your ticket. Once you get the ticket you have to book a slot. And the ticket validity is for one month. I would highly recommend you guys to go n see the Ion sky line it has the best view.
