Iceline Trail Yoho National Park
Iceline Trail in Yoho National Park is one of the best in the Rockies. It is a hard one day hike. Best is two split it up into two days. Hike the first day into Little Yoho and camp in the Primitive Campsite or the Alpine Club of Canada's Stanley Mitchell Cabin and then the second day hike back out or stay for a few days and enjoy the spectacular scenery. There are all sorts of hanging glaciers a long the way, small lakes, waterfalls. It doesn't get much better.

My first wilderness back pack trip. A friend and I back in 2012 decided to go for a wilderness backpack trip to Yoho National park in British Colombia. We decided on a 3 day 2 night trip to the Iceline Trail. It was everything I expected, awesome scenery, unpredictable weather, great camping and also a chance to connect back to nature. Here are a few key points.
Round Trip: 12.8km (8m) to 21.1km (13.1m)
Elevation Gain: 690m (2265ft)
Trailhead: 1520m (4985ft)
Highpoint: 2210m (7250ft)
Trailhead starts at Takakkaw falls and apologies if the video is a bit shaky but it’s hard to keep it steady and walk at the same time. It was filmed using my phone. Hope you enjoy and there will be more videos uploaded in the coming weeks.

Overall a wet weekend but spectacular nonetheless!

► Day 1 - #emeraldlake & #naturalbridge
Our 4th favorite day in Yoho! Emerald Lake is absolutely STUNNINGLY beautiful, and Natural Bridge is a wonderfully awesome rock formation around a waterfall!
► Day 2 - #sherbrookelake & #pagetpeak
Our 3rd favorite day in Yoho! Sherbrooke and Paget were equally awesome and very unique! You will get an incredible mountain view, and a peaceful turquoise lake with a mountain backdrop, it is a win for everyone!
► Day 3 - #takakkawfalls #laughingfalls #twinfalls #celestelake #icelinetrail
Our 2nd longest AND 2nd favorite day! We made a huge loop to see all of these sites in ONE day and it was the BEST choice! Leave early, and get ready for some UNBELIEVABLE waterfalls and views along the Iceline Trail
► Day 4 - #lakeohara #opabinplateau
We saved the best for last, unintentionally. We tried our butts off to get a bus pass for the ride to O'Hara, but ended up having to walk it! And it was SOOO worth it. Opabin Prospect was our absolute favorite view in all of Canada!
Hi, we are Julie & Zach, a couple who sold everything in 2018 and took off an adventure around the world! So far, this journey has taken us in a van ALL ACROSS the United States and Canada, from snorkeling with manatees in Florida to camping in the Grand Canyon to climbing glaciers in Canada, and everything in between! We were both working and going to school while living in Chicago in 2017 and 2018, and to be honest it really wore on us. We were exhausted, unfulfilled, and ready for an adventure. So, we made it happen! We saved up AS MUCH as we could over those 2 years - all homemade meals, no shopping, walk or bike everywhere, etc - and sold almost all of our belongings! With that money, we bought a renovated a van that we have been living in ever since! This is Winnie, the beautiful Volkswagen Eurovan who is the star of the show, unless of course you include our 8 year old chihuahua, Kobe, who has been tagging along like a champ on this entire adventure. He is an adventure dog in every way, except on some hikes he has to be carried in his doggy backpack... We started our YouTube channel a few weeks ago and have been loving creating videos! When we started, we were SO SO SO SO bad at it, and to be honest we still kinda suck, but we want to get better! What videos do you want to see? What do you want to know? Let us know and we will make it happen!
We believe that travel is truly a life-changing experience, it certainly changed ours! When you get out of your everyday world and experience new cultures, foods, places, people, sights, sounds, and take an adventure, you grow as a person and you become a better version of yourself! You are WAY stronger than you know, and stronger than you give yourself credit for. You have the ability to do anything, so make it happen! BE FOREVER FREE!

Our group of four spent one night out in the wilderness and hiked one of the best hikes in the Canadian Rockies - the Iceline Trail.
Over 2 days, we covered almost 30km. Day 1 - Hiked from Takkakaw Falls, above the tree line past glaciers, lakes and through forest and camped at Laughing Falls (a great site bordered by 2 rivers and the falls).
Day 2 - Hiked out to Twin Falls and completed the circuit back to the carprark.
