Celebrating Ocean Day 2018 with Beautiful Lanterns in Odaiba
One of the most beautiful and colorful festivals in Japan is the Lantern Festival held at Odaiba Seaside Park to celebrate Ocean Day. Ocean Day (also known as Sea Day or Marine Day in Japan) became a public national holiday in Japan in 1996 and is a day to show appreciation to the sea. The Lantern Festival was a way to send prayers and wishes for safe and peaceful oceans. Ocean Day is recognized on the 3rd Monday in July so keep an eye out for the exact days of this festival which is held in Odaiba. It's free and if the weather cooperates, you can capture some amazing photos!
