A Tour Around Ickworth House, Suffolk
During a trip back to my home county of Suffolk on the east coast of England, we decided to go for a day out to celebrate my Auntie Maureen's birthday! My mum and I took her to Ickworth House in Horringer, near Bury St Edmunds on a beautifully sunny May day. It was the perfect day to walk around the gardens of this amazing Italianate palace in the English countryside. We also enjoyed lunch in the cafe, ice cream in the gardens, and a browse around the shop (I chose a couple of fantastic books for my birthday later this month - I'll share those in a future video!), as well as a tour around the house.
We started in the servants' quarters in the basement and then explored the grand state rooms above. This is my second visit to Ickworth and I already want to return for a third, as there's so much to look at and experience here! I hope you enjoy exploring with me; please click on the links below if you'd like to find out more about the history of Ickworth House.

Ickworth House Park
Ickworth House Park is situated just outside the town of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, in the village of Horringer. Its a National Trust Property, so has an entry fee, although the grounds can be accessed from the village of Horringer, without going as far as the entry kiosk which is near to the house itself. It has fantastic woodland, and great wildlife year round.
If you are enjoying this series of Wildlife Walks, make sure you subscribe to keep up to date with new episodes. Many thanks!

Shocking at Ickworth
Filmed during a summer school for the gifted and talented youth, August 2007, at Ickworth House, Suffolk, these fine specimens of the British educational system have decided it is a good idea to shock themselves using an electric fence.
Only they could have thought up such a distinguished plot.

Visiting Historical Thetford
Just south of Thetford Forest you will find the small but charming Norfolk market town of Thetford. An important Celtic tribe lived around there during the Iron Age and early Roman period, and in fact in the 1970s a 4th Century treasure hoard was discovered which is now on display in the British Museum. In fact in Saxon and Medieval history, Thetford has also had some exciting roles too.
With a population of around 22,000 and just 86 miles from London lying on the London Road, and only 28 miles from Norwich, it is also a handily situated town. Find out about some of the commercial properties available in Thetford over at
