Iguazu Falls National Park ARGENTINA or BRAZIL
Iguazu falls, one of the Natural Wonders of the World. The massive series of waterfalls that border both the countries of Brazil and Argentina.
Iguazu falls Argentina and Iguazu falls Brazil are two completely different experiences and in my opinion cannot be compared to each other.
We travelled from Rio to Iguazu falls and started our experience on the Brazilian side before heading over to the Argentinean side. There is so much debate as to which side is the best but I will let you be the judge of that for yourself.
If you were to ask me if you only had time or money to do one side I would choose the Argentinean side as you get a lot more value and experience for the money.

Iguazu Falls - City Video Guide
Iguazú Falls is almost 2 miles wide and is not one, but an astonishing 275 waterfalls. Eighty percent of the falls lies in Argentina and twenty percent in Brazil, which is why the falls has two names: ‘Iguazú’ in Spanish and ‘Iguaçu’ in Portuguese.
Follow the boardwalk trail through the jungle and stand on viewing platforms over the falls. Feel humbled by the power of the tumbling water mass below you. In the wet season, 450,000 cubic feet thunders over the combined falls each second!
Enjoy a more serene frontal view of the falls from the viewing points in Brazil. From here, the river seems to drape itself over the edge like a curtain.
Take a journey beneath the falls on a speedboat safari. If you’d rather stay dry, take a helicopter ride over the U-shaped series of falls to see how it forms a dramatic chasm in the earth’s surface.
Getting to Iguazú Falls is easy: there are nearby airports in Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. You can even stay the night in the national park.
Though it may not be the tallest, largest or most powerful waterfall in the world, Iguazú Falls is certainly one of the most picturesque.

The Iguassu/Iguazu/Iguacu Waterfalls are among the true wonders of nature on earth. Many sections can be accessed from the Brazilian and from the Argentinian side. This video features the little park train on the Argentinian side. This was certainly a somewhat special railfanning experience in July 2015. Iguazu Falls (Pt-1) Argentine 29.4.2018
Iguazu Falls (in Argentina) or Iguassu Falls, (in Brazil) are roughly 275 waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of the Argentine and Brazil, containing various lengths from 60 to 82 meters. The number of waterfalls fluctuates from 150 to 300, depending on the water level. These 275 Falls make up the largest waterfall system in the world. The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. The Iguazu River starts near Curitiba city of Brazil. It is 1320 km long river. For 1205 km it flows into Brazilian state of Prana. Then at the confluence with the San Antonio River, it makes border between Brazil and Argentine and makes the world’s widest waterfalls in Iguazu, 80% of the which falls in Argentina and 20% in Brazil. It is said that the Brazilian side is for viewing the falls and the Argentinean side is for experiencing them.
There are two national parks at the site of Iguazu Falls namely National Park Iguazu on Argentina side spread over 167 Acres and Iguassu National Park on Brazil side spread over 457794 Acres. Both were declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1984 and 1987 respectively. The Iguazu river is an important tributary of the Paraná River and falls into it 23 km after the Falls. There are two towns on both side of the Falls i.e. Puerto Iguazu in Argentine and Foz do Iguacu in Brazil very close to the border. Both have airports.
There is a legend about the Falls which narrates that a god wanted to marry a beautiful woman named Naipí, who fled with her lover Tarobá in a boat in River Iguazu. In a rage, the deity sliced the river, creating the waterfalls and condemning the lovers to an eternal fall. It is one of the three most renowned Falls of the world i.e. Victoria Falls on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, Niagara Falls on the border of Canada and USA and Iguazu Falls on the border of Argentine and Brazil. It is said that former first lady of America, Eleanor Roosevelt, reportedly exclaimed “Poor Niagara” upon seeing Iguazu Falls for the first time.
At Iguazu Falls site, about half of the river's flow falls into a U-shaped gorge called the Devil's Throat which is 82 meter deep 150 meter wide and 700 meter long. A visit to the Devil’s Throat on boat is wonderful lifetime experience. With water flowing from 3 sides, it offers visitors a 260-degree view of the waterfall.
