Japanese New Year’s Tradition and Culture | January 1, 2019 | Mitake Shinto Shrine Ome Tokyo Japan
Hatsumōde (初詣 hatsumōde) is the first Shinto shrine visit of the Japanese New Year. Some people visit a Buddhist temple instead. Many visit on the first, second, or third day of the year as most are off work on those days. Generally, wishes for the new year are made, new omamori (charms or amulets) are bought, and the old ones are returned to the shrine so they can be burned. There are often long lines at major shrines throughout Japan.
Most of the people in Japan are off work from December 29 until January 3 of every year. It is during this time that the house is cleaned, debts are paid, friends and family are visited and gifts are exchanged. It would be customary to spend the early morning of New Year's Day in domestic worship, followed by sake—often containing edible gold flakes—and special celebration food. During the hatsumōde, it is common for men to wear a full kimono—one of the rare chances to see them doing so across a year[citation needed]. The act of worship is generally quite brief and individual and may involve queuing at popular shrines. The o-mamori vary substantially in price.
Some shrines and temples have millions of visitors over the three days. Meiji Shrine for example had 3.45 million visitors in 1998, and in the first three days of January 2010, 3.2 million people visited Meiji Jingū, 2.98 million Narita-san, 2.96 million Kawasaki Daishi, 2.7 million Fushimi Inari-taisha, and 2.6 million Sumiyoshi Taisha.[1][2] Other popular destinations include Atsuta Jingū, Tsurugaoka Hachimangū, Dazaifu Tenman-gū, and Hikawa Shrine.[3]
A common custom during hatsumōde is to buy a written oracle called omikuji. If your omikuji predicts bad luck you can tie it onto a tree on the shrine grounds, in the hope that its prediction will not come true. The omikuji goes into detail, and tells you how you will do in various areas in your life, such as business and love, for that year. Often a good-luck charm comes with the omikuji when you buy it, that is believed to summon good luck and money your way.

Inohanako Shrine in Hamamatsu - A Drone's view
One of the many shrines you will see beside a lake or sea which just look amazing. We often drive by this shrine and I think how amazing and cool it looks out there in the lake. Who would go to it and pray for something?!

The Biggest Little City In Japan - Hamamatsu
Welcome to my city. No introduction needed, just enjoy.
TL;DR
The candles in the video are in memorium of the huge earthquake that rocked Japan. Even though Hamamatsu wasn't hit, they recognize the devastating toll it took on Japan and still have a candlelight vigil in the middle of this park.
The other areas are in the small downtown of my city.
Thank you for watching! Please support me as much as you can by liking the video, subscribing and or sharing this with any of your friends or family interested in getting a glimpse of Japan.

Hamamatsu Castle Tower Gate | Museum ???????????? Wow Na Wow ang mga Artifacts na sa Movie Ko lang Nakkita
Hamamatsu Castle is conveniently located near the city center and easily reached by bus, taxi, even on foot. Originally named Hikuma Castle it was later extended, rebuilt and renamed when occupied by Ieyasu Tokugawa from 1542-1616 who intended it to be a launch-pad for world unification bearing the name - Success in life.
This castle was demolished by air raids of WW2. The restoration is at the original location and exhibits swords, armor, a pair of wooden saddles, maps, stamps, family crests made of cloth, photos and a miniature model of historic Hamamatsu. There is a water well downstairs and upstairs an observatory.
Surrounding the castle is a large and well cared for park convenient for visitors of all ages. Hamamatsu Castle Park is a comfortable and natural setting for baby strollers, energetic children, romantic couples and seasoned elderly. With over 400 cherry trees blooming in spring many people visit and picnic under the waving light pink blossoms. Each season has a particular appeal and this park is a wonderful place to experience them all.
The castle tower
From the basement to the second floor there is an eclectic collection the on third floor there is a 360 degree viewing deck where you can take in the view of the area and glimpse Mt. Fuji on a sunny day with a souvenir shop on the first floor that's popular among tourists.

Okuni Shrine - Shizuoka - 小國神社 - 4K Ultra HD
Located in the heart of Shizuoka’s peaceful and beautiful countryside and an hour away by car from Hamamatsu, Okuni Shrine is one of the four major Shinto Shrines in the Shizuoka prefecture. According to past official documents, Okuni Shrine was established on February 18, 555 and enshrines the deity known as O-na-muchi No Mikoto, also known as Okunimushi No Mikoto (The Great Land Master).
Since then the Temple received the Imperial offerings and its special envoy every year and many centuries later on June 13, 1874 the Meiji government gave Okuni Shrine the rank of Kokuhei-Shosha class of Nationally significant shrines.
