飯山観音 - Iiyama Kannon. Atsugi, Kanagawa Japan
飯山観音 - Iiyama Kannon is an 800 year old Koyasan Shingon sect Buddhist temple located in Atsugi, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Popular in the Kamakura period, this temple was a centre for all embracing studies linking the Shingon sect with the Tendai, Ritsu and Zen sects.
The main hall of the temple was reconstructed in the early Edo period (1600-1868). It enshrines a bronze Juichimen Kannon Bosatsu statue that dates back to the Kamakura period (1185-1333).
Young people looking for a life partner come to the temple to pray to Juichimen Kannon Bosatsu that the Buddhist god will help them to find a partner.

The 4th and 5th day in Japan during 2017 Full write up in the website and blog link below, but if your not a fan of clicking elswere and reading long arcs of text with some pretty snaps thrown in heres the gist:
Shinkansen from Tokyo as far as we could then private rail to Komagane.
Lunch by the station and taxi to an amazing Ryokan in the hills.
Dinner at a nearby beer hall.
Early morning amazing breakfast, like blow my mind amazing.
Then the distillery! Mars Whisky Distillery. The tourist draw card for this one is still small so the tour is self guided :D
We meandered around town on the way back finding some amazing little shrines and temples, then grabbed our bags and it was back to Tokyo.
Thank you Komagane! You are stunning.

Japan Castle of Japan Ueda Castle Nagano 2010
Ueda Castle (上田城 Ueda-jō?) was the original home of the Sanada clan, built by Sanada Masayuki.
It was this castle that the Sanada defended twice from the Tokugawa, first in 1583 and again in 1600, putting up a very impressive defense both of those times.
When Sanada Masayuki refused to hand over the Numata Castle to Tokugawa Ieyasu, it led to The Battle at Kami River. During the battle, Ieyasu charged into the Ueda Castle with a very large army. But Masayuki was ready, having an ambush party ready to attack. This effectively threw the Tokugawa army into great confusion, causing them great losses in numbers.
Masayuki and his son Sanada Yukimura both faced off against the Tokugawa once again at the Battle of Sekigahara. The Sanada announced their surrender, but this surrender was all part of Masayuki's plan. He wanted to make them think he was truly surrendering, but instead Masayuki was really in preparation for the defense of the Ueda Castle.
When Tokugawa Hidetada was alerted of the Sanada clan's plot, Hidetada began to mobilize his troops. But Masayuki was already prepared for an attack, so he had another ambush party ready, but this time he sent them into the enemy's main camp. In the end the battle had devastating effects. Hidetada failed to seize the Ueda Castle, and he was also kept from joining the field at Sekigahara.

Famous for its historic and traditional ski resort, Nozawa-onsen village is well renowned among onsen (hot-spring) areas dotted around Japan.
An “onsen area” is a district with many natural hot-springs where hot water flows naturally from the earth.
The place where the hot water flows out is called the gensen. Nozawa-onsen-mura is a small village located at the foot of Kenashi-yama, a mountain that has a gensen at its center.

Cherry Blossom Japan - Part 2 - Countryside Cherry Blossom Trees
Cherry Blossom in Japan blooms at the start of the spring. Japanese calls Cherry Blossom as Sakura. Saku stands for blossom, while Ra stands for good.
The video begins with the view of Cherry Blossom Tree. Then, it zooms out to an aerial view of the countryside. From up there, you will see the river lines up with Cherry Blossom Tree and fields with forest of Cherry Blossoms.
Joggers follow the stunning path full of Cherry Blossoms on both side. You will feel inspired and relaxed. The sun came up. The weather is so nice. It is a perfect day for a nice jog. Also, it is a good way to get positive vibes. Clear your mind. All you need to do is jog, walk, or run.
When you travel to Japan, you must experience the Hanami. The act of viewing the Cherry Blossom is called Hanami. Hana stands for Flower, while Mi stands for View. It is big part of the Japanese culture to rush to view the amazing view of Cherry Blossom. Japanese go picnic under the tree. Eat the traditional food for the season.
The Densha passes the bridge over the river which is full Cherry Blossom on both sides. Densha is a Train in English. The train runs on a track with lots of Cherry Blossom. It makes you want to travel to the countryside.
