Trip to Ikaho Gunma Japan Ghost Hunting Abandoned Haikyo Onsen Hotspring
A solo ghost hunting trip to Ikaho Gunma. I was originally going there to just relax in a hot spring but when I saw this building, I just had to try.
One strange thing that happened was at the end while recording, my phone just died. I'm always conscious of the battery so I know that it was at around 30 percent before it died but as I was recording the last segment, the Samsung logo just popped up on my screen and turned off. I wasn't able to turn it back on. When I got back to my hotel to charge it again, it was at zero percent. That has never happened before, usually it goes down to 15% then gives me the low light warning, then turns off at around 3%. I've had this phone for over a year and it hasn't happened again since making this video.
A Day Trip to Ikaho
Took a jaunt to the famous hot spring town of Ikaho. Autumn is the perfect time to check out the famous stone steps, the Kajika bridge, and soak in a hot spring.

The Ikaho Onsen area is truly magestic place in the mountains of Gunma prefecture, just north of Takasaki. The Ikaho area is full of hot springs, restaurants, and many historical sights. Today I didn't have the chance to explore the whole area, but I did ascend the 369 Ikaho Stone Steps. It was a very humid day and you will probably see me sweating throughout this video.
Getting to the Ikaho area started off a little intimidating as I couldn't find much research online before hand. Luckily the people in Gunma Prefecture are very nice and guided me in the right direction. As of 2016 this is how you get to the breathtaking Ikaho Stone Steps. Suppose you are coming from Tokyo. From Tokyo Station take the Joetsu Shinkansen to Takasaki Station. You will change from the Shinkansen to a local train(Joetsu line or Agasomething((haha)line). Take one of those trains to Shibukawa Station, which takes about 30 minutes. Next go to Bus Stop 3 and get on the bus. The bus stop is infront of the station and super easy to find. The trip takes about 20 minutes and is ¥570 one way. You will know when to get off as you will see the steps appear. Going back is just as easy, all you have to do is go back to where the bus dropped you off. It also appears that JR Kanto has an express bus between Tokyo and Ikaho.
This was an amazing experience for me as it gave me a true glimpse of an old Japanese village. Don't worry about all the steps, heat and humidity there are well stocked vending machines with juices and sports drinks to rehydrate you. Take the trip now it wont disappoint you, I do advise going early so you don't run out of time. Unfortunately I did not get to see as much as I wanted. Initial D Mt Akina Downhill (Driving from Harunasan to Mizusawa Temple via Yaseone Touge)
I had the chance to drive up and down the famous Mt Akina track from Initial D on a three day trip from Yokohama to Nagano and Gunma with my girlfriend.

The car was a Toyota Allion. I wanted to get a 86 again but unfortunately rental companies in Yokohama don't install snow tyres on them and I wanted those for Nagano just in case.

Lake Haruna
A 360° pan view from the shore of the lake atop Mount Haruna, near Shibukawa in Gunma, Japan. Otherwise known as Mount Akina in the manga and anime Initial D, here you can see the lake where you can hire swan-shaped pedal boats, and the peak itself (which has a small shrine at the top), accessed by a cable car.
An extinct volcano, the crater of which forms the lake, altitude at this point is just under 1200m (about 3900 feet), with the peak itself topping out at 1391m (4564 feet).
