Illickan Mala, located in kottayam,Kerala, India, measures approximately 6000 ft. above sea level. Numerous mountain streams in this peak, flow down to form the Meenachil River. Tourists must trek 3 km to reach the summit of the peak.
Illickan Kallu comprises three hills, each rising to 4000 ft. and above sea level. Each of the hills has a peculiar shape. One of them resembles a mushroom, which is why it is known as Kuda Kallu (umbrella shaped rock). It is said that the medicinal herb Neela Koduveli grows here. This blue flower is also believed to possess supernatural powers, which could increase wealth and ensure a rich harvest. The second hill, has a small hunch on the sides and is therefore referred to as Koonu Kallu (hunch back rock). Across this rock is a 1/2 ft. wide bridge called Narakapalam (bridge to hell). From the hilltops, the Arabian Sea can be seen in the distant horizon as a thin blue line. The sunset on the evening of a full moon day can be sensational: the moon can be seen rising up like another sun, as the orange sun goes down
Illickan Mala hills is famous for its solitude, the quietude and the gentle breeze that blows there. There are many mountain streams originating from the peak of the Illickal Mala hills. It is almost 6000 feet above sea level. For reaching the hill top of Illickal Mala hills, we have to do trekking up to three kilometers

Illikkal kallu is an extremely beautiful place with a mesmerizing view in Kottayam, Kerala. Illikkal Kallu has located 30 km from Vagamon and 20 Km from Erattupetta. The place is a little dangerous too. The road is an awesome but very steep climb. You can reach till the parking where you pay rupees 20 for parking and from there either you can walk to the top or take the jeep ride which is 20 rupees per head. Best for family or friends trip.

1. KATTIKAYAM WATERFALLS
is very near to the place at a distance not more than 2 kilometers from Illikkal Kallu. A trek of about 2 km to the falls is indeed a mesmerizing experience. Thought there are no risks in visiting this waterfalls, visitors need to take care of slippery rocks.
2. ILAVEEZHAPOONCHIRA
Is another nearby attraction which is only 7 kilometers away from Illikkal Kallu. The road to Ilaveezhapoonchira is not paved and can be considered for an off road adventure. Ilaveezhapoonchira means Valley where leaves don't falls The highest point is known as Kannadipara. Valley of this rocky mountain reflects the morning sun with mirror-like perfection. Pazhakakanam plateau with bamboo groves. meadows and wild flowers nourished by Thodupuzha river and Kazhukankulimali waterfalls is nearby. During monsoons, the valley fills up to form a scenic landscape that attracts tourists from all around Kerala.
3. VAGAMON
Another nearby attraction, a hill station and one of its kind in kerala. National Geographic Traveler has listed Vagamon on their directory of the 50 most attractive places to visit in India

Illikkal Kallu or Illikkal Boulder is a pristine viewpoint located at 4000ft ASL in Kottayam District. It is about 50km from Kottayam and 6km from Teekoy. Once reached Teakoy, take a left from Erattupetta, take a right onto the bridge and after approx. 2-3km take a left to Illikkakkallu. Going straight would take one to Vagamon. Illikkalkallu can be easily sighted from any part of Kottayam. This place is only a developing tourist spot and a good destination for a day trip if one is from Central Kerala or visiting Vagamon.

Watching from the safe place will be good. Climb on hills only if you are trained for that. We can see even the Arabian sea from the hills, also sun rise and sun set.

Climate in Illikkal Kallu is pleasent. Normal temperature is in day time, but on evening mist will fill the atmosphere and you can enjoy the cold.
