There's Nothing Holding Me Back - Georgetown School #CBCMusicClass
The seventh and eighth graders of Georgetown School, while small in number, are great in spirit. With only fifty students in the entire school (the smallest in PEI), the seventh and eighth graders offer leadership, friendship and compassion to the younger students who see them as role models. Georgetown School’s story is one of the power of community and the celebration of ‘small is beautiful’. Over the past 10 years, the school has faced imminent closure twice. Both times, the wider community came together with a ‘hug’ around the school, tremendous spirit and determination and worked to overturn the decisions. Small numbers mean infrequent music classes, but just one 1/2 hour rehearsal every 6 days allowed the class to celebrate some beautiful Canadian music, learn how to create their own and bring it to life on the nearby stage of our local theatre.
