Today in this vlog I take you around the town in a place called Oyama. The countryside of Japan is quite beautiful, there is a lot of history here too. Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, Mt Fuji in 4K - 北口本宮冨士浅間神社 - Japan As It Truly Is
The Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine at the foot of Mt Fuji is a beautiful shrine and starting point for those climbing to the top.
Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja (北口本宮冨士浅間神社) was established in 788 AD to pray for protection from Mt. Fuji erupting (the volcano is not extinct). Some traditional Mt. Fuji climbers start at the Fujiyoshidas Sengen Shrine and say a prayer before their climb, even though it makes it twice as long - most modern climbers start further up, which just takes 5 hours or so. The main shrine hall in the Momoyama style was completed in 1615, and other impressive sights include its giant torii gate and several sacred cedar trees which are over 1000 years old.
You can reach the Sengen Shrine in a 20 minute walk from Mt. Fuji Stn, or a 5 minute bus ride (get off at the Kitaguchi Hongu Fujisengen Jinja-mae bus stop). There are also buses from Kawaguchiko Station, but beware of traffic jams in rush hour - it could take more than twice as long as normal.
Please note that there are several Sengen Shrines in the region. If taking a taxi, make sure you are going to the right one.

中国地方最高峰の「大山」の紅葉です。例年より一週間早いという事で、初めて１０月に登りました。紅葉のポイントが多いため（Ⅰ）～（Ⅲ）までの３部作に分けました。まだ少し早いような気がします。例年満開は１１月初旬です。

It is colored leaves of Daisen of the Chugoku district highest peak. I climbed it for the first time in October for one week from an average year that it was early. Because there were many points of colored leaves (I), I divided it into three copies of products to ... (III). I still feel slightly early. The average year full bloom is the beginning of November.

Omicho Market, Kanazawa City
Omicho Market is located around the JR Kanazawa Station area and is said to be established over two hundred years ago. This market is specially known for it's prepared and raw seafood. Freshly caught various types of fish and crustaceans from the Sea of Japan end up at this market. This market is popular with both locals and tourists. This market is not as big as the Tsukiji Market in Tokyo but is definitely as charming as Tsukiji Market.

Ameya-Yokochō (アメヤ横丁 Ameya alley) is an open-air market in the Taito Ward of Tokyo, Japan, located next to Ueno Station.The market is approximately 164,227 square feet in area, starting just behind the Yodobashi Camera building and following the Yamanote Line south until the Komuro building.
There are two theories on the etymology of Ameya. The first is that the name came from ameya (飴屋 candy shop), because of all the candy stores that lined the street in the early post-war era when sugar was hard to come by. Even now, there are stores selling candy there. The second theory is that it refers to アメリカ(America); there used to be stores selling surplus American army goods just after World War II. In either case, it is now commonly referred to simply as ameyoko (アメ横).
The market is home to over one hundred and eighty one shops, which sell products ranging from fresh food and fish to clothing and time pieces.
Traditional Ueno is known for its ornate shrines, including 17th-century Benzaiten temple, which stands on an island in Ueno Park. Nearby, the open-air Ameya-Yokochō market sells a vast range of food, clothes and accessories.

Shofuku-ji (Iizumi Kannon 飯泉観音) Temple, Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan
坂東巡礼 第５番 勝福寺 （飯泉観音）
Shofuku-ji Temple is located in Odawara city of Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan.
Shofuku-ji Temple is affiliated with the Shingon sect of Mahayana Buddhism. The temple's main religious image is the Eleven-faced Kannon, a bodhisattva who represents maternal compassion. The name of the Kannon is Iizumi Kannon. The temple was first constructed during the Nara period (710-793) in a village called Chiyo. The temple was burned down, and was rebuilt in 1706 in its present location where it became known as Iizumizan Shofuku-ji. The main hall (Hondo) of the temple was reconstructed full of local colors combined with the traditional style of the early Edo Period (1603-1867). The temple is also famous for its Daruma-ichi, a market for dharma dolls which is held annually on December 17 and 18.

We stayed in Togane in Chiba Prefecture while in Japan in April 2010. Our dear friends were kind enough to host us at the last minute. This is footage from where we slept, their private garden, private bamboo forest and dinner.
Togane is near Tokyo and Narita Airport. It is a coastal town on the Eastern Side of Chiba.

酒匂川の支流、滝沢川から流れ落ちる洒水の滝は、「日本の滝百選」、またその水は「全国名水百選」に選ばれている名瀑です。
「洒水」＝「しゃすい」の名は、密教用語で清浄を念じてそそぐ香水を指すといいます。雄大なその姿は三段からなり、落差は一の滝は69m、二の滝は16m、三の滝は29mという豪快な滝で、古くから相模の国第一の滝とされ「新編相模国風土記稿」では、「蛇水の滝」と記されています。
この滝は鎌倉時代の名僧文覚上人が百日間も滝に打たれる荒行を積んだ地としても知られており、付近には文覚上人が安置したといわれる滝不動尊（不動明王「穴不動」）があります。
毎年、7月第4日曜日におこなわれる「洒水の滝祭り」では、信者による水行、洒水太鼓、滝不動尊境内での火祭りが行われます。火祭りの後御幣は無病息災のご利益があるといわれ、人々は競って持ち帰ります。

Jurassic Park may be the first thing that comes to mind when you see Aogashima Island from the air - but yes, THIS IS TOKYO!
It's famous for having a volcano inside a volcano surrounded by dense jungle. It's also considered the smallest town in Japan and the hardest place in Japan to get to. There is no direct transportation to Aogashima. These facts are what make Aogashima the best kept secret in Tokyo!

HOW TO GET TO AOGASHIMA
Air
▶︎ Haneda Airport (Tokyo) to Hachijojima / 50 minutes
▶︎ Helicopter to Aogashima - 20 minutes / 11,530 Yen
Note: You have to take the first flight to catch the helicopter or spend the night. Only 1 helicopter flight per day.
Sea (Ferry)
▶︎ Takeshiba Pier (Tokyo) to Hachijojima 11-12 hours / Tokai Kisen Line /
▶︎ Hachijojima to Aogashima / 3 hours / Izu Shoto Kaihatsu Line
Note: The ferry to Aogashima is often canceled so don't rely on this if you need to be back to Tokyo for a flight etc. It can be delayed for as long as 1 week depending on weather!
WHY IS THIS THE HARDEST PLACE TO GET TO?
The town is located 200 meters up off the sea. There is no airport and this island is only accessible by helicopter and ferry. The port is one of the most challenging to dock at in the world so when the sea is rough or the wind is too strong, ferries are often canceled. Visitors may be stranded here for a week or more if the weather turns bad.

THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT VISITING AOGASHIMA
1) You must have a reservation to stay somewhere before arriving. Lodging is limited. Call ahead, even for camping.
2) There is an ATM at the post office but come with cash just in case
3) Helicopters are often sold out a month in advance. Ferry tickets are easy to get but your departure date may not be convenient.
4) Walking is possible everywhere but many tourists rent a car. Other tourists may pick you up if you hitchhike. It takes 80 minutes to walk from the heliport to Aogashima pier.

On 4 Aug 2011, I measured radiation at a mo of motor pool of supermarket. in Oyama city, Tochigi pref.
Oyama is 160 km from Fukushima Nuclear power plant.
The monitor indicates 0.11 micro Sievert per hour in air at chest hight, 0.44 on mud at ground level.
I am afraid that children's lung may chatch the dust from this mud in dry and windy days.
Measuring instrument is made of Ukraine.
