How to Get a Goshuin Stamp at a Temple or Shrine in Japan
A goshuincho is a small notebook used specifically for temple and shrine visits. When you visit a shrine or a temple you can get a stamp and calligraphy text for that specific place for a small fee. In this short video, we show you how to get a stamp for your goshuincho.

Okayama Shrines and Temples: Omoto Shrine (Goshuin Adventures)
The first of our Okayama Shrines and Temples (Goshuin Adventures). Today we went to Omoto Shrine. It is a fairly decent sized shrine in Okayama City and also holds the honor of being the starting point of Goshinko.
Goshinko is a 1 kilometer march to Okayama Castle and Korakuen Park. People dress in old period costumes, blow conch shell horns, and do dances. It happens on the 1st Sunday of April. Check it out!

Fushimi Inari, Gion District, and Wagyu Beef | Day 1 in Kyoto
Join us on our first day in Kyoto! We rode the Shinkansen for the first time and LOVED it! We also visited the Fushimi Inari Shrine, the Gion District, and ate wagyu beef for the first time.
Here's a link to the apartment hotel we stayed at:
It was walking distance to Fushimi Inari which was great for early mornings. It was also very spacious for a Japanese accommodation and the staff were super friendly!
Link for Teppan Tavern Tenamonya:
You'll definitely want to make reservations ahead of time for this one. There isn't a lot of seating which makes for a quaint atmosphere. The staff and owners are amazing and the wagyu beef is so affordable!

My Goshuincho 御朱印帖 (Red stamp book) collection vlog (late upload)
Here is the coolest way to collect Japanese souvenirs. Also, the cheapest ever. Even most Japanese don't own one of this. They find it really amazing that a foreigner owns this stamp book. When you visit temples and shrines here in Japan, this is what you should have and do. I also shared interesting facts about the places that we went to and featured in this vlog. There are still tons of places to visit in Japan, but here are the few ones that we have already seen and explored. Enjoy the video! A bit long but stay with it until the end. Goshuin Signing at Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto
When you visit a temple or shrine in Japan you can receive goshuin, basically a stamp proving that you have been there. A priest or monk will sign your book with beautiful calligraphy and stamp it with the seal of the temple. Sadly, I stopped filming before I got the stamp :(
This particular stamp I received from Kiyomizu temple in
View of Mt. Chokai. Kaneyama Town, Yamagata, Japan
Nearly visible in this movie. It was really beautiful with the naked eyes.

Receiving a Temple Seal (ご朱印) at a Japanese Temple
Goshuin (ご朱印) is a temple stamp that Japanese travelers collect when they a visit a temple in Japan. Usually there is a Goshuin Cho (Temple Stamp Booklet) that they carry with them and then when you visit a temple you go to the Goshuin window and ask for the temple stamp. It usually costs around 300 yen. Most of the times, it is not allowed to photo or take a video of this process but I was able to take a video of the lady giving the temple stamp. The process involves first using the red color temple stamps that are unique to the temple and then writing about the temple on top of them using beautiful calligraphy.
