Incheon Art Platform 버려진 부두가 문화예술 공간으로! '인천아트플랫폼'
Incheon Art Platform is known for its well-preserved architectural heritage sites and buildings that display both ancient and modern beauty. Established through remodeling buildings constructed in the 1930's and 40's, it's considered a successful example of urban regeneration. Visit the site to see how it displays the modern interpretation of Korean history and enriches citizens' lives.

Incheon, a City Transformed Over Time
Home to Incheon International Airport, the port metropolis of Incheon has naturally become a destination city for visitors to Korea. The city accounts for 100th of the total land area of the country, making it technically the largest city in Korea in terms of square kilometers. While its beautiful islands and beaches are a sight to behold, this trip looks into the nooks and crannies of the city itself.

There are a lot of Chinese and Korean restaurants, coffee shops, souvenir shops, and art works on the streets of China Town. You can explore all these places by walking. There are a few coffee shops that were used for K drama locations, too.

Incheon _ a peaceful day
After finishing my busy week, I just realize that almost leaves have left their trees. They said the autumn is the romantic season.
Do I miss this romantic in Korea?
Trying to calm my mind and heal my heart, trying to find the way back to the peaceful in mind, I went to Incheon, one beautiful city near to Seoul and I found the peaceful of my mind.
The book street where we can find so many old book stores. The oldest one is also here. Most of books here are in korean but we still can find some english book. The famous drama 'Goblin' also was filmed in this book street.
The next destination is Incheon art platform. It's really fun here if you go with friends. We found an incredible man. He is mix of batman, hulk, wonder woman, super man and spider man. There are a lots of fun and cute statues.
The art road took us to the japan area, so nice here with nice coffee shop and restaurants.
Then we went to Jayu park, the first park in Korea. On the way going there, we passed by an hanok museum with amazing view. The museum was covered by beautiful foliage that turn yellow and red.
Keep going up, we reached Jayu park. The scenery was amazing. I saw a man who was sitting among the doves and feed them with his bread. Then I saw an blossom rose garden. That was not all. I keep lost in beautiful tree line that helped me feel the mood of autumn.
Keep going along the road and went down stairs, we entered China town. Everywhere covered by red, the color of happiness and luckiness. I felt so happy. We tried white jajangmyeon at one restaurant here. It was good. This was the first time I heard and saw and tasted WHITE jajangmyeon.
After discovering China town, we keep going the went to fairy tale village, the world of princes and princesses. It was like back in time when I was a little girl who listened to fairy tale stories every night.
I had an precious time in Incheon :)

Contemporary Artist Ritesh's Korean Atelier
Ritesh Ajmeri was born into a family of artists who sculpt traditional Hindu figures. Today, he is a contemporary artist who expresses his thoughts on time and memory through his work. Ritesh, who emphasizes the simple messages he learns from diverse experiences, first discovered Korean contemporary art in China and was enchanted by its scale and charm.
Ritesh first came to Korea as a resident artist of the National Museum of Contemporary and Modern Art's Goyang Studio through the Asia-Pacific Scholarship Program. There, he met his current fiancee Bae Hui-gyeong. For Ritesh, the studio residency was a dream come true. He could focus on his work all day and exchange ideas with other great fellow artists.
Over the past four years, he has held exhibitions in the Goyang Art Museum, the Incheon Art Platform, the Busan OpenSpace Bae, the DMZ International Art Festival, Delhi Exhibit 320, Bucharest in Romania, and Kuala Lumpur. His hard work was motivated in part by his determination to earn Hui-gyeong's parents' permission for their marriage. He wants to show her parents that their partnership has enabled him to grow into a contemporary artist who communicates with the world while moving between India and Korea.
Recently, he found his latest atelier in the cultural city of Ulsan, the hometown of his fiancee and a hub of flourishing contemporary art. Ritesh loves Korean art museums that combine the tranquility of nature and the fragrance of art, and is eager to meet fellow artists.
We peek into his life through an art museum tour stretching from Goyang, his first home in Korea, to Ulsan, his current atelier, to the Seorak Baekgong Museum of Modern Art, where his friends create their art, and to the recent Seoul center of the National Museum of Contemporary and Modern Art.

설명
MY SHOES ARE A BIT MORE COLORFUL by sanghoon Ahn
July 3 - July 17, 2018
Ahn Sang-hoon studied at Munster, Germany, and later worked in Germany, including Munster, Berlin, and Austburg. Since moving into the Incheon Art platform last year, he has been searching for a way to make abstract paintings in Korea. The exhibition shows the work that has been done in Korea since returning to Korea in 2016. Ahn Sang-hoon will use his unique color sense and construction within surface to stimulate the imagination of the audience.
Last year’s Incheon Art Platform Exhibition, GOOD: PAINTING was an opportunity to ask about what’s the ‘good’ in painting and also about the ‘painting’. The artist seems to be saying to the people who are looking for ‘good’ paintings that they don’t have to by drawing a line over the phrase ‘good’. The exhibition intended to show that the painting lasts for a very short time, which is represented by particular painting floating a little from the wall instead of being hung on it. The artist seems to make the audience think about what ‘good’ painting is, and eventually what is ‘painting’ is about.
Every exhibition is temporary and disappears. The canvas paintings, if not permanent, may seem to guarantee some time, actually disappear too as the exhibition ends. There is no way to know where and when to see the paintings again. The artist is well aware of the fate of painting. Therefore, he predicted that the material would disappear from the ground through plastic and very fragile methods(GOOD: PAINTING). What we know about paintings is so fragile just like that. There are paintings exist outside of the canvas. And there are paintins inside the canvas. The artist does not consider the edge of the canvas to be the edge of the painting. In this exhibition too, the author assumes that the scope of his imagination extends beyond the edges.
Ahn Sang-hoon who uses painting as a media, works while simultaneously dealing with abstract paintings that have become a genre. Ahn Sang-hoon recognized the abstract paintings, the postmodernism, the material quality of the brush, and the psychological value of the painting. Still he doesn’t wants these words about abstract paintings to come forward to painting itself and asks about what is ‘good’ in painting. Therefore, Ahn Sang-hoon is a artist who is concerned about the rhetorical expression that is being using to understand paintings.
The painting titles consist of a familiar yet strange combination of phrases and words, like the title of the exhibition. This is also the artist’s intention to share a large portion of the work with the audience. Each title, which is randomly chosen from Google Search, but at the same time is based on existing information, only conveys vague shades of meaning and leads the audience to be curious. You may have seen the title “Untitled” which is usually attached to abstract paintings. That leads us to ask, why do we check the title of the picture? Why do you feel so lost in front of the title “Untitled”? When you don’t know what to look for from a painting, you may expect to get some hints from the title. The artist uses the title todeflect the things outside the picture that we think we need when we’re trying to understand a painting. There have been many questions and pessimism about paintings, or abstract paintings. Still, Ahn Sang-hoon works between inside and outside of the paintings saying, ‘There is paintings here, still, nevertheless’.
