Indian Falls Owen Sound
I took a trip to check out Indian Fall, just north of Owen Sound. It's a pretty nice spot! The hike is a little tricky though!
Indian Falls in Owen Sound, Ontario
Indian Falls is located just north of Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. The waterfall stands 45 feet high and 25 feet across. It is the result of the Indian Creek tumbling over the Niagara Escarpment. The waterfall is located within Indian Falls Conservation Area and is just off County Road 1. Parking and entrance are free. The waterfall is just a short hike away.
All video was taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 waterproof camera. All still photos were taken with a Canon Rebel T3I. All video clips and photos were taken on May 21, 2012.

Indian falls, the 15 meter height plunge waterfall, boasts a unique horseshoe shape with a bridal veil falls, similar to the world famous Niagara falls. Be ready to face rocky terrain and elevation changes while you hike to Indian falls. It's a 0.7 km rugged trail to the indian fall.
You may hear falls before you hear them.

One of three waterfalls that surround the city of Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada, Inglis Falls is the best known and most visited. Situated in the heart of the 200-hectare Inglis Falls Conservation Area, Inglis Falls is an 18-metre high cascade, created by the Sydenham River meeting the edge of the Niagara Escarpment.
The water over the falls used to be partially diverted for hydro electric power generation, grain milling, and Owen Sound drinking water.

Owen Sound's Indian Falls
Owen Sound (Ontario, Canada, 2 hours northwest of Toronto) can bring nasty weather in the winter. Nevertheless, is also makes for priceless experiences, like this snow cone at the base of Indian Falls. A few miles outside of town, it's a mere 15 minute walk to the base of Indian Falls and it's 45 foot freefall.

Inglis Falls in Owen Sound, Ontario (June, 2018)
Inglis Falls results from the Sydenham River falling over the Niagara Escarpment, just southwest from the centre of Owen Sound, Ontario. The waterfall is within the boundaries of the Inglis Falls Conservation Area and stands 18 metres or 59 feet in height.
It should be noted that this is one of two Sydenham Rivers in Ontario. The other is located further to the southwest and empties into lake St. Clair. This river travels through Owen Sound and shortly after empties into Georgian Bay.
It also should be noted that there is a $6 fee per vehicle to park at this location. Grey Sauble Conservation has started a new 'pay by smartphone' system. This is a bit flawed. If you went to more than one of their parks in a single day, you would have to pay at each one. The $41 seasonal fee is great but it is tagged to one license plate. Therefore, if you have more than one vehicle, you must always use the one in order to use the season's pass.

Beautiful Horseshoe Waterfall and River Views - Indian Falls, Owen Sound
North of Owen Sound, Ontario is the Indian Falls Conservation Area that features a beautiful horseshoe waterfall. The falls were named after the Newash Indian tribe that once lived in these parts.
The 15 metres high waterfalls was formed through the erosion of soft Queenston shale under extremely hard Manitoulin dolomite. The beautiful layers of shales and other rock can be seen along the steep cliffs.
The trail leading to the top of the waterfall is less than a kilometre long but the terrain is rocky and steep in places. The path isn't wheelchair or stroller accessible.
Chloe thoroughly enjoyed the scents and the access to the river, which was flowing more than we have ever seen it. There isn't a specific trail to the bottom of the falls and it actually is not permitted to go to the base of the falls.
