A tour to Spice Garden Kerala | आयुर्वेदिक ज्ञान | मसाला बगान
#SPICEGARDEN , # KERALSPICE , #INDIANAYURVED
A short video containing Spice garden information situated in Munnar to Thekkady Road . The owner of the spice garden is explaining the features of the plants and tree in HINDI.
The spices of Kerala date back to thousands of years in the history of the state. In the ancient times, Kerala rose to fame all around the world solely on the basis of the riches brought into the state, because of its monopoly over spices.Musiri, the ancient port of Kerala became the base of world spice trade, almost ages ago. It is sometimes said the Western colonization in India, was the attempt of the West to control the spice trade from the state. The arrival of Vasco Da Gama in India and its spice trade was the result of the same.In the last 10 years, international spice trade has grown to around 500,000 tonnes of spices and also of herbs of over 1500 million US dollars. It is no exaggeration that a major chunk of this trade is still from Kerala.
Family Trip to Munnar | Kerala | India | Sunset at Naadukani Para | Ponmudi Dam | Echo Point | #104
This is day one experiences of our Munnar Trip! Enjoy the sunset at Munnar, Echo point, water fall and ponmudi dam. Please watch the video and leave comments for me. Your feedbacks are very valuable to me. Thank you for watching! Please like, share and subscribe to Geetha's Kitchen @
Munnar is a beautiful hill station located in the district of Idukki. Surrounded by winding terrains of mountains, this hill station is positioned in the Western Ghats.
We took a train from our city Calicut to Aluva around 6:20AM, reaching Aluva around 10AM.
The resort we were staying at in Munnar had arranged a ride and driver for us who came to pick us up at the station. Our driver Felix played such a huge role in enhancing our experience in Munnar. He is extremely knowledgeable in all the travel must-sees, recommendations, etc! Highly recommend Felix if you are looking to book a trip to Munnar!
Our first stop in Aluva was to see our family friends in the area and enjoy a delicious homemade meal at their place. From there we headed to Munnar via Adimali and Rajakkad.
We are passing a bridge called Neelimangalam bridge. Here we made a pitstop to see Valara Waterfall, an herbal spice Garden, and a chocolate factory.
Felix then arranged for us to take an off-roading jeep ride to Ponmudi Dam! These off-roading experiences are plenty in Munnar and is one of the most adventurous activities of Munnar. This is an opportunity to discover the deep mountain paths and absorb every inch of the natural beauty of Munnar! Our first stop during this jeep ride was to see the ripple waterfalls at Sreenarayanapuram. The waters were absolutely stunning and really makes you appreciate the breathtaking beauty of nature. Millions of tourists and picnickers, both from within and outside the country, make their way to this fabulous region in pursuit of leisure. We headed towards Ponmudi dam and passing the hanging bridge next. This bridge connects 2 mountains and goes over the river Muthirapuzha. The rope is made of iron and the base are wooden planks. Recently the government maintained the platform using iron made platforms. Our safari continued to Echo Point at ponmudi dam. Located at an altitude of 600 ft. and at a distance of about 15 kilometres from Munnar, Echo Point is situated right in the lap of a quaint lake and misty hills covered with lush green trees. As the name suggests, this place is well known for its enthralling illustration of the phenomenon of echoing. As you scream, you can hear your voice reverberate around the attraction again and again....twice every time because of its geographical structure. The unique beauty of the Echo Point marks the confluence of three mountain ranges, Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala. Situated on the banks of a lake, the calm and serenity of this place is enchanting. The name Munnar means ‘Three Rivers’ and indicates the place’s peculiar setting at the convergence of the Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala rivers. You can indulge in a peaceful walk around the gentle slopes of the hills here, or go for boating in the serene waters of the lake. Echo point is a paradise for birdwatchers, as many native birds can be spotted here. Ponmudi dam, the second largest dam in the state, is built across river Panniar and the water from the reservoir is used for power generation. This dam has been featured in several films, including Shahrukh Khan’s movie Chennai Express as he pushes his jeep into these waters!
We then headed towards Nadukaani Para to see the sunset.Nadukani is a spectacular location situated on the top of a hill at an altitude of 3000 ft. This place offers breathtaking views of winding mountains, gargling rivulets, green stretches of meadows and vast expanses of paddy fields.
Nadukani in Malayalam means “to see the country” and it is the perfect name as we enjoyed the cool breeze and incredible panoramic view as the sun set.Our first day came to an end as we made our way back to the resort, Siena Village at Chinnakanal. The Siena Village is a stunning resort in Munnar located about 8 miles from the famous Kolukkumalai Tea Garden and Anayirangal Dam. This resort provides you with the most relaxing and refreshing atmosphere. Their all-equipped suite rooms are very spacious and best of all, they have a personal open-air jacuzzi for you to enjoy! Additional facilities of this resort include play rooms for kids, 24-hour front desk service, and an in-house restaurant prepping the most delicious Indian and International meals! We had an easy, fun stay at Sienna Village and will highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to stay in Munnar, Kerala! After a quick delicious meal at our beautiful resort, we all headed to bed for a good night's sleep before the next day’s early morning rise to see SUNRISE!
WILL COMEBACK WITH STORIES OF TOMORROW'S SUNRISE FROM KOLUKKUMALAI in the next video!

Coffee plants in spice plantation in Kerala
Coffee is a brewed beverage prepared from the roasted seeds of several species of an evergreen shrub of the genus Coffea. The two most common sources of coffee beans are the highly regarded Coffea arabica, and the robusta form of the hardier Coffea canephora. The latter is resistant to the coffee leaf rust (Hemileia vastatrix), but has a more bitter taste. Coffee plants are cultivated in more than 70 countries, primarily in equatorial Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Once ripe, coffee berries are picked, processed, and dried to yield the seeds inside. The seeds are then roasted to varying degrees, depending on the desired flavor, before being ground and brewed to create coffee.
