INDIRA GANDHI PARK (IG ) // ROURKELA //ODISHA
One of the biggest park of its kind for public purpose in Steel City is Indira Gandhi Park (IG Park) developed and maintained by SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant. The location of the said park is adjacent to Ring Road and Main road leads to Traffic Chowk from Sector – 2 and Sector – 4 respectively. Within the area of sprawling 50 acres of land, there are number of facilities entertainment for public. The details of are as follow.
A Zoo having number of animals and birds including Bear.
Self propelled Boating Facility within the lack (big pond) inside the park by paying extra charge for the same.
Doll Museum having dolls from different countries.
Toy Train facility round the lake inside the park on extra payment.
Rose gardens consists of variety of Rose saplings of 2 acre of area.
Fish Aquarium consists of varieties of colour fishes
Musical Water fountain during evening time
Inside the park the restaurant facility is also available.
Entry Fee : The entry fee for the park is Rs.10/- per person.
Working hour : 8AM – 7PM ( Closed on Monday and other selected holidays. )

The Indira Gandhi Park, located about 2 kms from the city center in sector 4 on the main Ring road, is the longest park in Odisa. Sprawl over an area of 42 acres of land the well maintained park with beautiful garden and grass meadow houses, a mini zoo, aquarium, doll museum and a lake. The garden in the I.G. Park comprises different varieties of flowing plant, rose garden, Japanese garden and a fountain.

A treat to every kid, Indira Gandhi Park is near to the downtown of the city of Rourkela. Sprawling over a massive 42 acres of land, this well-maintained park houses grass meadows, gardens, a small zoo, aquarium, lake, and a doll museum. The garden includes different varieties of floral species along with lawns, shrubs, and a musical fountain. Whereas, the zoo comprises different species of birds and animals. Deer, black beer, peacock, and crocodile are some animals which kids can expect to see here in the India Gandhi Park in Rourkela. This small yet beautifully designed zoo doesn’t stop here to amaze kids, it also has a toy train for the small ones which gives children an enthralling tour of the entire zoo.
