Gose Khurd Dam, (Marathi: गोसे खुर्द धरण) is an earthfill dam on the Wainganga River near Pauni in Bhandara district in state of Maharashtra in India.[1] The dam consists of 33 Nos of spillway gates to regulate irrigation water into the river through out the year
The height of the dam above lowest foundation is 22.5 m (74 ft) while the length is 1,135 m (3,724 ft). The dam volume content is 3.83 million m3 and gross water storage capacity is 1,146 million m3. Its purpose is irrigation.

GosiKhurd Irrigation Project also known as Indira Sagar Irrigation Project is one of the major irrigation projects in Godavari basin in Indian state Maharashtra in the Bhandara district on the river Wainganga. The project was launched in 7th Five Year Plan by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi during 1984. It has been declared as National Irrigation Project by Government of India.

Gosekhurd Dam Irrigation Project of Maharashtra India near Nagpur Chandrapur Indira Sagar Dharan.
The Gosikhurd project on Wainganga River, in Maharastra’s eastern Vidarva region, was approved in 1982 and launched by the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1984. The project was declared as ‘National Irrigation Project’ by the government of India

दरवाज़े उघडण्यात आले
भंडारा व गोंदिया जिल्ह्यात काल रात्री पासून जिल्ह्यात सर्वदूर रिमझिम तर काही तालुक्यात मुसळधार पाऊस सुरु असून वैनगंगा नदीचा जलसाठ्यात मोठ्या प्रमाणात वाढ झाली आहे तर नदीचा जलपात्रात मोठ्या प्रमाणात वाढ पाहता पवनी तालुक्यातील गोसेखुर्द धरणाचे एकूण ३३ दरवाजे १ मीटर ने उघडण्यात आले आहे ४५९७ क्युमेक्स एवढ्या पाण्याचा विसर्ग सुरु आहे ज्यामुळे गडचिरोली येथील नदी काठच्या गावांना धोक्याचा इशारा सुद्धा देण्यात आला आहे आतापर्यंत या हंगामात भंडारा जिल्ह्यात ५८२ मिलीमीटर म्हणजे ७८ टक्के इतका पाऊस झालेला आहे तर या संततधार पावसामुळे जिल्ह्यातील धान उत्पादक शेतकरी सुखावला असून सर्वत्र धान पेरणीला वेग आलेला आहे हवामान खात्याने वर्तविलेल्या अंदाज प्रमाणे ७ व ८ ऑगेस्ट ला मुसळधार पाऊस बरसणार असल्याची माहिती देण्यात आली होती त्या नुसार भंडारा व गोंदिया जिल्ह्यात सर्वत्र पावसाची रिपरिप सुरु आहे ,,,

मध्यप्रदेशात होत असल्यामुळे पावसामुळे नागपुरातील पाणीकपात होण्याची शक्यता आहे. मध्यप्रदेशातील चौराई धरणाचे सहा दरवाजे उघडण्यात आले आहे. हे पाणी नागुपरला पाणीपुरवठा करणा-या तोडतलातोह धरणाच्या जलसाठ्यात पोहोचणार आहे. त्यामुळे तोतलाडोह धरणाच्या जल साठ्यात 20 टक्क्यांपर्यंत वाढ होईल. मध्यप्रदेशात असाच दमदार पाऊस सुरू राहिला तर चौराई धरणातून पाण्याचा विसर्गातही वाढ होईल. त्यामुळे नागपुरच्या तोतलाडोह धरणाच्या पाणीसाठ्यात मोठी वाढ होईल. त्यामुळे येत्या काळात नागपुरातील पाणीकपात कमी होण्याची शक्यता आहे.
