-- About this video --
Today we are in Ranfurly in Central Otago. It’s pretty much the middle of nowhere which means it has a lot of character and charms. However, did you know that in the nearby village of Naseby is New Zealand’s only dedicated indoor curling rink?! Actually it is the only indoor curling rink in the Southern Hemisphere. Let’s check it out!
We head from Ranfurly Holiday Park to the Naseby Curling Rink where we get some lessons on how to do curling for beginners from Maniototo Curling International. We have never done curling before but we are stocked to be doing curling in New Zealand for the first time!
Learning curling in New Zealand is something we didn’t expect to do in New Zealand but it definitely appealed to our competitive nature. If there was ever a New Zealand sport you wanted to try yourself, why not curling?!
So what do you think of this curling experience in New Zealand? Would you try this curling in the South Island experience? LUK in the comments!

The Central Otago region of New Zealand's South Island is well known for at least three things: gold fields, stone fruit growing and curling. What's that, you may be thinking. Check it out and see for yourself.
To guarantee the right conditions, Naseby now has a fine indoor curling rink rather than relying on natural winter freezing.
The town may be small, but it has more than it's fair share of interesting buildings and sites. It's well worth a winter visit (we were there in August 2008). Try not to get bogged at the holiday park like we did, though.
