Indru Nag Temple is situated at Indru Nag near Chohla village in Dharamshala. Distance from Dharamshala Bus Stand is just 5 km. IndruNag is an ancient temple built by local villagers and is dedicated to Snake King. People offer prayers to the Indru Nag and they strongly believe that this God saves them from the natural disasters, especially heavy rains. The temple is located on the hill top and one can get the panoramic view of Dharamshala and Dhauladhar ranges. IndruNag is also famous for Paragliding since 2011. There is a small plateau located at the hilltop which is used by paragliders as a launching pad for a 15-20 minutes ride. The altitude of the site is close to 2000 m and it offers a short but beautiful flight over the town of Dharamshala. Best time for paragliding at IndruNag is between October and December.

Indru Nag temple is located at a height which gives a fantastic view of the whole of Dharamshala. The temple has a courtyard which provides a peaceful atmosphere for worship.

At a distance of 5 km from Dharamshala Bus Station and 8 km from McLeod Ganj Bus Stand, Indru Nag Temple is situated at Indru Nag near Chohla village in Dharamshala.

FACT FILE
Charge for a ride is around 1500 per person. The entire flight can be captured on a GoPro camera installed in a selfie stick. If you want the video They will charge 500 extra.
It is a good idea to make the booking in advance. However, the weather forecast for the desired days before making the booking.
October to June is the season for paragliding. October, November, June, and March are the best months to plan for long flights. It will be closed in between 15 July to 15 September.

McLeod Ganj (also spelt McLeodGanj or Mcleodganj) is a suburb of Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is known as Little Lhasa or Dhasa (a short form of Dharamshala used mainly by Tibetans) because of its large population of Tibetans. The Tibetan government-in-exile is headquartered in McLeod Ganj.
It has an average elevation of 2,082 metres (6,831 feet). It is situated on the Dhauladhar Range, whose highest peak, Hanuman Ka Tibba, at about 5,639 metres (18,500 feet), lies just behind it.
McLeod Ganj was named after Sir Donald Friell McLeod, a Lieutenant Governor of Punjab; the suffix ganj is a common Hindi word for neighbourhood.
TRANSPORT:
(1) Air -
The nearest airport is Kangra Airport, 15 km from Dharamshala.
(2) Rail -
The nearest railway stations on the narrow-gauge Kangra Valley Railway line are at Kangra and Nagrota (about 20 km south of Dharamshala). The nearest railhead (broad gauge) is at Pathankot (85 km)

Indru Nag Temple is situated near Chola Village in Dharamshala. Indru Nag is an ancient temple built by local villagers and is dedicated to Snake King (Nagaraja), the God of Snakes and the God of Rains (Indra Devta).
The villagers believe that Indru Nag has protected and will protect them from natural disasters and listen to their prayers.
Trek to Indru Nag Temple
Indru Nag Temple is around seven Kms from Dharamshala. You need to take Khanyara road from Dharamshala and then another road to Chola village.
Adventure loving people can go for a trek at this beautiful destination. The temple is located at the hill top and the panoramic view from the hill is enchanting and breathtaking. The cool breeze will give you altogether a different feeling and you feel like in Heaven at this place.
The entire city can be viewed from Indru Nag. On one side there are giant but beautiful Dhauladhar ranges and on the other side you can have a look at the lush green Shivalik ranges from here.
Now enjoy Paragliding in Dharamshala at the Indru Naag Hill. The Paragliding at Indru Nag Dharamshala is available at a reasonable price.

I also stopped at the Bhagsunag Temple on the way. The trek is easy-peasy and a gorgeous one! What made my trekking so special was the Monsoon Clouds and the rain.
