United Airlines today applied with the U.S. Department of Transportation for authority to begin new service between New York/Newark Liberty International Airport and Cape Town International Airport. United plans to operate nonstop three-times weekly flights to Cape Town starting in December 2019.
We are always looking at at ways to expand our industry-leading international route network to offer our customers more convenient options. We're thrilled to announce the addition of Africa to our global route offering, said Patrick Quayle, United's vice president of International Network. This new flight will provide customers with the only nonstop service between the United States and Cape Town.
United's nonstop service between New York/Newark and Cape Town will decrease the current travel time from New York to Cape Town by more than four hours and provide customers from more than 80 U.S. cities with easy one-stop access to Cape Town. If approved, United's service between New York/Newark and Cape Town will be operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft featuring 48 seats in United Polaris business class, 88 seats in United Economy Plus and 116 seats in United Economy.
United’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners will receive new Polaris Business Class and Premium Economy. United Airlines last served Africa with its Houston to Lagos flight in 2016.

Another train consumed by fire in Cape Town

Yet another train has been consumed by fire in Cape Town. This time the incident happened between Kentemade and Century City Railway Stations. Fire and Rescue Services were on the scene taking precautionary measures to ensure the fire does not spread.

Time to take you down Tokai's All Mountain & DH trails. These are THE most fun trails for me on the mountain.
The lower DH trails are new to me, I did take a quick spot ride to check out how the Kenevo rides but that trail real needs some sessioning to get the jumps right.

After ride drinks and foods are available at the local shopping centre located only around 1km down the road from the trail head.

Drones will be to used to improve Cape Town train lines security

Rail agency PRASA says drone technology will be used to improve security along its central train lines in Cape Town. The line was reopened last week after being shut down for several weeks due to crime and vandalism. PRASA officials joined commuters in an early morning train ride from Langa to the CBD as part of a site inspection.

Is the downhill track in Tokai a true DH track?

We are of the opinion that it's more of an enduro trail than an out and out DH line especially from DH 1 to 3. DH Zero has a fairly committing entry but outside of that, its got some great flow.

If you are planning to visit and send the DH line, its running very nicely at the moment. A mixture of fast, loose, tight and flow sections, its very well rounded. The only thing it lacks are a few turns. That being said, it's a super rewarding trail to ride!

Go fast and get loose!
