Nantucket's Unsafe Roads and Bike Path
In 2014 Nantucket has no comprehensive roadside vegetation management guidelines or controls. Sightlines (the distance you can see ahead) are insufficient for safety on many rural roads.
The bike path rights of way are also unmonitored. Vegetation often intrudes into the biker's space and limits vision.
The State of Massachusetts and the U.S. Department of Transportation have identical guidelines for vegetation control called Vegetation Control for Safety. The booklet addresses the issue of obscured sightlines, and suggests practices and policies for public safety. These include how to measure sightlines, where to cut brush at intersections, scheduling and record keeping. It also defines what may be considered legal negligence in the case of an accident.

Principal Shaves Head & Kisses Pig As Students Surpass Reading Goals- Barnstable, MA
MARSTONS MILLS — After kissing Rosie, West Villages Elementary School Principal Kirk Gibbons raised his head to an explosion of cheers and laughter.
Rosie, for the record, is a 2-week-old piglet from Miss Scarlett's Blue Ribbon Farm in Yarmouthport. It was her first time away from her mother.

Principal Kisses A Pig for Literacy
Gibbons was kissing the barnyard animal at a school assembly Friday because his students fulfilled their promise of reading 75,000 pages during a designated week.
He said the students read around 73,000 pages in a similar time period last year.
The pig kiss wasn't the only challenge.
If students read more than 68,000 pages between March 7 and March 14, Gibbons said he would shave his head. If the students read more than 100,000 pages, the principal would take a polar plunge into the ocean.
West Villages students met all three challenges, reading 132,000 pages.
Students did not get to see their leader jump into the ocean in person, but they had a YouTube viewing of Gibbons leaping backward into the water at Chapin Memorial Beach in Dennis in the suit he wears to work.
Gibbons said water temperatures hovered somewhere in the 30s.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

Sample Transcript: Im going to talk here a bit about hit frequency, which is different than payback. Payback is how much MONEY the machine pays back over time, and hit frequency is how often the machine hits a winning combination. Theyre related, but they arent the same. My book goes into a lot more detail then I can here about hit frequency and how hit frequency is affected by certain machine types, but the important thing is that its simply how often a winning combination comes up on the reels.
The simplest game type, and what used to be the most common, is a standard multiplier. Multipliers are simple because the only thing that changes when you bet more credits is how much you get paid back should you win. Games like Double Diamond and Five Times Pay are multipliers. If you bet one credit and get bars, for example, youll win $10. Bet two credits and win $20. Bet three credits and win $30. The more you bet, the more you win simple. Betting more doesnt increase your hit frequency on these games, so its fine to bet less than max. If youre just starting out, these are probably the best way to get your feet wet. Now Im going to make a little note here about progressive machines. Progressive games are the games that have a top award that goes up the more the game is played. Progressives usually have odds and percentages that are comparable to regular reel slots, unless the progressive amount is ridiculously high, such as MegaBucks or other very large multi-casino progressives. Since thats the case, if you can find a progressive that has a high amount and isnt MegaBucks or the others, I would recommend to play it. Make sure to always bet max on progressives. If you dont bet max, then find another game, because betting less than max on a progressive is a complete waste. If you win the top award and dont bet max, you wont win the progressive. Ive seen this happen to people dozens of times, so never ever play a progressive without betting max.
The final type of game Ill talk a little about in this video is Poker. Why only a little? Because Im devoting a whole video to it next time. Video Poker is almost always going to be the best bet, for slots anyway, in the casino. The highest paybacks are in Video Poker, and the most consistent wins are there too. In my next video Ill talk about why theyre your best bet and how you can tell youre playing the highest payback video poker machine in the casino just by looking at it. Be sure to stick around for that, and Ill see you next time on Tech4Truth.

Katrina Bookman, 44, hit a $42.9 million jackpot at Resorts World Casino in Queens, N.Y. She posed next to the winning machine as it displayed her earnings. As a crowd started gathering around, security showed up.

North By Northwest
Selected as one of the top 50 American films of all time by the prestigious American Film Institute, and considered by many critics to be Hitchcock's greatest film, this fast-paced thriller stars Oscar-winner Cary Grant (Notorious, The Philadelphia Story) as a Madison Avenue advertising exec who is mistaken for someone else and kidnapped by a group of international spies, headed by James Mason (A Star Is Born, Lolita). After a hair-raising escape, he is framed for a murder he didn't commit and goes on the run with the lovely Eva Marie Saint (Superman Returns, On the Waterfront). Famous for a wild plane attack and a harrowing chase across the faces of Mount Rushmore, this is quintessential Hitchcock (Psycho, The Birds). With Academy Award-winner Martin Landau (Ed Wood, The Majestic) as Mason's evil henchman, this film is the rare combination of action, suspense and humor.
