Insadong | the BEST Tourist & Souvenir Streets in Seoul
Insadong proved to be quite the entertaining blend of traditional Korea and gimmicky tourist trap, from handmade ceramics to PSY socks. Whether you're a citizen of Seoul or just visiting, it's definitely worth a visit! Maybe even after a day of touring Bukchon Hanok Village in your hanbok, which is quite conveniently located just across the street!

25 Best Things To Do in Seoul, South Korea
Check out my Seoul travel guide and tips at this link: - All my personal Seoul travel tips and suggestions!
Seoul, South Korea, is truly an amazing city to visit! It's modern, easy to navigate and there's little something everyone will enjoy. The Seoul subway system makes it easy to get around town and discover exactly what the giant city has to offer.
Surrounded by Japan and China, Seoul and South Korea sometimes doesn't get all the attention is deserves . Korea is home to a unique culture, cuisine and a fascinating history. If you ever have the chance to visit Seoul, you'll have a great time!
I traveled to Seoul Korea and was able to do all kinds of things, but I've narrowed this list down to twenty five of the best things to do in Seoul - of course there are other things as well but this list is just the beginning and intended to get your ideas and travel imagination flowing!
Anyway, on to the top Seoul attractions, here's the list in case you can't see the video:
1. Gyeongbukgung Palace
2. Bukchon Hanok Village
3. Jogyesa Buddhist Temple
4. Suwon's Hwaseong Fortress
5. War Memorial and Museum
6. N Seoul Tower
7. Myeongdong Shopping
8. Insadong
9. Namdaemun Market
10. Dongdaemun
11. International Itaewon
12. Hongdae (Hongik University)
13. Lotte Mart
14. Lotte World
15. Seoul Children's Park
16. Han River Walking / Riding
17. Walk along the Cheonggyecheon Stream
18. Hike in Seoul
19. Gwangjang Market
20. Noryangjin Fish Market
21. Garak Wholesale Food Market
22. Korean Street Food
23. Ice Cream Selections
24. Coffee at a Coffee Shop
25. Korean Barbecue
I stayed in South Korea for just over 2 weeks and was able to complete this entire list of things to do in Seoul.
However, even though there are so many places to see and go, probably my favorite of all is eating and sampling delicious Korean food! Korean food is so good and there are so many restaurants everywhere you look in Seoul that it can truly be considered a foodie's paradise.
If you get a chance to visit Seoul I hope your'e able to do all these wonderful things while you're there!
Anything else you love about Seoul that's not on this list? Please feel free to leave a comment below and let me know!

Seoul Walk: Insadong (인사동), @Line 3 - Seoul, South Korea [4K]
Let's have a glimpse into the real Korea - in this must-visit spot for every tourist in Seoul: Insadong! From the best traditional souvenirs to authentic old and modern foods, paintings, masks and crafts - Insadong has it all and offers a great mix of new and old Korean influences.
The Insadong area is famous for its appeal to foreign tourists, as it boasts a large selection of shops selling everything traditional Korean, without feeling like a rip-off tourist trap as other places in the world.
Walking among the many Koreans dressing up in the traditional Korean Hanbok, you can find beautiful Korean scroll paintings, traditional Korean masks and yummy local tea blends. Also other stuffs that you might have grown fond of during your stay in Korea is available in these shops - local sweets, a huge selection of Korean Ginseng products and beautiful crafts - e.g. decor items or accessories. Especially the multi-level Ssamjigil craft shopping center offers 4 levels of shops and places for little snacks.
If your souvenir hunt is done you may also enjoy the wide variety of traditional restaurants, tea houses and cafés in this area. Prices are slightly higher, but quality, decoration and the great selection of different flavors make these restaurants still a favorite among locals. And of course for your small appetite, there is also great streetfood to be had. Various skewers, rice cakes, rice toffees, dragonbeard candy, hotteoks or greentea icecream, to name a few.

Insa-dong is a dong, or neighborhood of the Jongno-gu district of Seoul. The main street is Insadong-gil, which is connected to a multitude of alleys that lead deeper into the district,[1] with modern galleries and tea shops.[2] At one time it was the largest market for antiques and artworks in Korea.[3]
In area, 12.7 hectares (or 31.4 acres),[4] the district is bordered by Gwanhun-dong to the north, Nagwon-dong to the east, and Jongno 2-ga and Jeokseon-dong to the south, and Gongpyeong-dong to the west.
Insadong was originally two towns whose names ended in the syllables In and Sa. They were divided by a stream which ran along Insadong's current main street. Insadong began 500 years ago as an area of residence for government officials.[6] During the early period of the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897), the place belonged to Gwanin-bang and Gyeonpyeong-bang - bang was the name of an administrative unit during the time[7] - of Hanseong (old name for the capital, Seoul).[5] During the Japanese occupation, the wealthy Korean residents were forced to move and sell their belongings, at which point the site became an area of trading in antiques. After the end of the Korean War, the area became a focus of South Korea's artistic and cafe life.[6] It was a popular destination among foreign visitors to South Korea during the 1960s, who called the area Mary's Alley.[8] It gained in popularity with international tourists during the 1988 Seoul Olympics.[6] In 2000 the area was renovated,[9][10] and, after protest, the rapid modernization of the area was halted for two years beginning that year.[6] In recent years the backstreets of Insadong have continued to be gentrified with cafes, garden restaurants, and traditional pension-style accommodations.

Insadong Ssamjigil Street [서울 인사동 쌈지길]
Insadong, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Seoul, is a precious place where old but precious traditional goods are exchanged in downtown Seoul. In Insadong, the main street is surrounded by maze. The maze is filled with galleries, traditional handicraft shops, antique art shops, traditional restaurants, traditional restaurants, and cafes. In particular, the shops in Insadong are very popular among the middle-aged as well as the young. The gallery is the center of Insadong.
I hope you enjoy it.

Myeong Dong: A South Korea Tourist Attraction
Travel to South Korea and explore the captivating neighborhood of Myeong Dong.
Tucked in the city of Seoul, this Korean destination belongs at the top of your vacation itinerary. If you’re looking for retail therapy, you’ve come to the right place, as this hot spot is known as one of the city’s main shopping districts. Besides browsing the shops, you’ll also find various must-visit attractions, such as theaters and cultural centers. Meanwhile, if you’re visiting during spring or fall, don’t miss the highly anticipated Myeongdong Festival, which occurs twice a year.
Put on your walking shoes and get ready to shop until you drop. For starters, M Plaza is the place to find international brands of clothing sure to help you reach that globetrotting style you’re going for. Looking to score some beauty secrets from the Koreans? Myeong Dong is home to countless beauty stores, where you can pick up cosmetics at much cheaper prices than other areas of Asia, such as Singapore. In addition to the fashion and skincare shops, you’ll find street vendors selling everything from fish cakes to souvenirs. After a day spent romping around the shopping district, we have a feeling you’ll leave with your hands full.
In addition to shopping, you’ll come across various other South Korea tourist attractions. For a little drama, head to the Myeongdong Theater. Opened in 2009, the theater has lead the cultural charge in this part of town, showcasing all kinds of performances, from non-verbal productions to musicals. The theater even hosts acting contests and festivals. In the mood for some more theater? Check out the plays and concerts at Haechi Hall at the Seoul Global Cultural Center.
If you’re visiting during the bi-annual Myeongdong Festival, you’re in luck! These events provide the ultimate look at Korean culture, as they present a multi-day program filled to the brim. The streets come alive with dance contests, parades, fashion shows, and more. Marvel at the costumes, cheer on the cultural performances, and jam out at the K-POP concerts.
Whether you’re joining informational Myeong Dong tours or planning to explore the neighborhood as you please, you’re in for a treat. For more insight on what to expect on your next romp in Myeong Dong, check out our travel guide video and start packing your bags!
