Please pass the roles
Dear Freemore,
I just posted a new video on youtube featuring the desert tortoise we encountered on a hike in the mountains after the rain last week. Having never seen one in the 47 years I've lived in Arizona, the rewards of the encounter continue to show up in my expressions. He seemed to pull back in his shell and not share his opinions about life with us, but upon further reflection his message was loud and clear: Play the role you are assigned and travel at your own pace no matter how fast or loud the world around you is becoming.
I came across some video I shot in The Valley of the Gods last summer at Bluff Jaw Harp Festival and thought I'd crank out another performance piece, but it kept imploding until it became an international invitation to a show where firearms were prohibited.
One of my finest memories was creating the sound design for ASU's production of As You Like It and writing new music for Shakespears's lyrics. Somehow the old Bard resurfaced in this video as well proving once again how much we can learn from experienced travelers on this planet no matter what color, gender, age or species.
Enough. Enjoy.
Hank
