Text description provided by the architects. The holiday home is located near the village Geilo, a popular skiing destination in the valley Hallingdal. Ski resorts are abundant around the lodge, with a freestyle terrain park right next to the site. Out of winter season, the mountains provide excellent hiking opportunities as well as other sporting activities.
The family of four with anticipation of a fifth addition provided a straight-forward program for their mountain lodge: four bedrooms, separate living and dining areas, a youth lounge and a mezzanine for the younger children. In addition a small annex would accommodate guests and visiting grandparents.

Økern Masterplan, Oslo Phased Masterplan CGI Animation Norway
Find out what architects should know about commissioning visualizations - Free Guide
Visualized by Lifang Økern Sentrums main focus is to take a holistic approach to local development and create a modern and integrated center of diversity. The aim is to establish a complete range of population with the existing Økern center developed from a mall
mainly based on trade, with cultural innovation including Oslo Children's Museum, cinema, allbrukshall, music, as well as a new water park for Groruddalen. The population growth in the coming years will lead to a need for a significant number of new housing,
increased trade deals and more jobs. With its central location and good public transport coverage Økern is an important area to focus on to meet future needs. Økern will emerge as a counterpart to the traditional closed mall concepts with its open city structure. This will create urban culture and teeming life in the streets and squares, and will be a tomorrow shopping place for the future city.

Amazing KODE Art Galleries Bergen, Norway! Go see!
This is just a livestream taster for the visual feast I hope to upload in a few days so please Subscribe if you would like to see a hopefully better production!
These art galleries are wonderful and, so long as you don't use flash, very generous in their permission to photograph the wonderful exhibits including , of course, many works by Norwegian expressionist Edvard Munch. Many of Astrup's paintings are also here. A visit to Bergen was part of MV Marco Polo's Norway and Land of the Northern Lights cruise itinerary. To READ the label information or to examine the pictures remember you can pause (try tapping the space bar).
Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Oslo - RTW Day 41 - Two Minute Travel
We woke up, and while I had a fine night’s sleep, Kathryn had the worst sleep ever. Which leads to a good point, when you’re on a holiday, sure you might save $5 or $10 here or there booking cheaper places, but if you can’t sleep, then you kind of waste the next day, which wastes a lot more money than the money you saved in the first place.
We then headed to the The International Museum of Children’s Art in Oslo, the first children’s art museum in the world. Some of the art was exactly how you’d imagine, but others were amazing. My favourite was one which showed four people going through drug addiction, from before, through to on drugs, then the ecstasy then the come down, and finally, what was next for them. It was also noticeable to see how many children from the former Soviet republics that all end in ‘stan’, had their fathers in the military. It really seemed like the default man profession.
Next up was some time in Oslocity, a shopping mall in the heart of Oslo. While this may be the most visited shopping mall in Norway, to be honest, it was a little boring, and most things seemed pretty expensive. Weirdly, clothes seem to be nearly a reasonable price, it’s just food that’s seriously crazy. By seriously crazy, a cheeseburger combo and an ice cream from Burger King was $20. Just silly.
From Oslocity, which is right by the central railway station, we walked towards the Oslo Town Hall, which was where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony was being held. This is the only Nobel prize that is held in Norway, the rest are held in Sweden interestingly. We saw a crowd of people and Police around a hotel, so we walked by, and ended up seeing the Nobel Peace Prize recipients, Malala Yousafzai, and Kailash Satyarthi on their way to the city hall. It was intense to see how much Police protection was around, with more than 10 Police officers with fully automatic rifles, handguns, helicopters, horses, motorbikes, really just an intense vibe.
After checking that out, we then walked towards the waterfront. The first time we were in Oslo it was foggy and cold, and whilethat gave everything a watercolour-like feel, it also made it a feeling chilly day to do exploring. This time with the sun out, and not much wind, everything was being bathed in a golden light, and I could imagine that Oslo in Summer would actually be a really lovely place to be.
However, it was 2pm, and time for us to head to Oslo Airport. We’ve got three flights tomorrow to get from Oslo to Frankfurt to San Francisco to San Diego, and that means getting up at 3am.
