Konferencja COP24 w Katowicach
24. Sesja Konferencji Stron Ramowej Konwencji Narodów Zjednoczonych w sprawie zmian klimatu to największe światowe forum, którego celem jest wypracowanie wspólnej polityki na rzecz przeciwdziałania zmianom klimatu.
Szczyt klimatyczny ONZ w Katowicach to olbrzymie przedsięwzięcie, w które zaangażowanych jest wiele stron zrzeszających setki ludzi pracujących na jego sukces. Na COP24 do Katowic przyjechało niemal 30000 uczestników oraz 500 wolontariuszy. Uczestnicy konferencji mieli do dyspozycji 8 stref konferencyjnych, a w nich sale plenarne, sale konferencji prasowych, sale spotkań oraz kilkaset innych pomieszczeń w tym biura, centra komputerowe, miejsca do pracy i relaksacji.
Przy budowie i aranżacji terenu konferencji pracowało niemal 2000 osób - pracownicy Międzynarodowych Targów Poznańskich i podwykonawcy. Przygotowania do konferencji trwały równo 60 dni, rozpoczęły się 28 września.

25 różniących się wielkością i aranżacją sal konferencyjnych przeznaczonych dla negocjatorów

COP24 is the informal name for the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Katowice was a huge venture which many parties were involved in, bringing together hundreds of people working for the final success.
Almost 30 000 participants came to Katowice at COP24. Guests from all over the world were supported by 500 volunteers.
Participants had at their disposal 8 conference zones, including plenary rooms, press conference rooms, meeting rooms and several hundred other rooms like offices, computer centres, places to work and relax.
Nearly 2000 people worked on the construction and arrangement of the conference area - employees of the Poznan International Fair and subcontractors. All the preparations for the conference lasted equally 60 days, started on September 28th.
COP24 in numbers:
2 plenary halls (for 1600 pax) - the MCK conference center is where most negotiations took place
25 meeting rooms of various sizes and configurations for negotiations
2 press conference rooms
6 side events rooms – that were used for the more than 260 official side events
3 rooms for action and high level events as well as the „Action Hub”

Miss Universe 2020 - Contestant (Poland - Magdalena Kasiborska)
Magdalena Kasiborska from Zabrze was crowned Miss Polski 2019 (Miss Poland 2019) on December 8, 2019, at the International Congress Centre in Katowice.
The 19-year-old cosmetology student beat 23 other Polish beauties to win the national title. She succeeds last year’s winner and Miss Universe 2019 representative, Olga Buława.
She has always been passionate about the beauty industry. In addition to external beauty, the winner also has a rich interior. Well, Magda has an artistic soul. She transfers her emotions to the piano. Kasiborska attends singing lessons, where she honors her vocals. However, cosmetology and music are not the only areas of interest for the new miss. The teenager loves sports and dancing as well. In her free time, she willingly devotes to her passion for dancing.
Magdalena has been dancing for eight years. She trains ballroom dancing. She presented her sense of rhythm on the catwalk of the competition. Another physical activity that she practices tennis. However, sport is not what it associates in her future. Well, Kasiborska focuses on medicine.
