International Friendship Exhibition in Hyangsan, North Korea
The International Friendship Exhibition is a large museum complex located at Myohyangsan, North Pyongan Province, North Korea. It is a collection of halls that house gifts presented to former leaders Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il from various foreign dignitaries. The protocol of gift-giving is well established in Korean culture.
Built in a traditional style, the halls opened on 26 August 1978 and consist of over 150 rooms covering a total area of between 28,000 and 70,000 square metres. The building offers the impression that it has windows, though it has none. According to a local legend, Kim Jong-il built the International Friendship Exhibition in three days; however, actual construction took a year. Currently, estimates of how many gifts the exhibition holds vary between 60,000 and 220,000 gifts. On entering the exhibition, shoes must be removed and visitors are asked to bow before portraits of Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il. Satellite imagery from 2017 shows increased underground activity at the site, suggesting an expansion may be underway.
The setting of the museum in the Myohyang mountains, near the Pohyon temple, was the subject of a poem by Kim Il-sung, which he later chanted from the balcony of the International Friendship Exhibition on October 15, 1979:
On the balcony I see the most
glorious scene in the world...
The Exhibition stands here,
its green eaves upturned, to exalt
The dignity of the nation,
and Piro Peak looks higher still.
The museum is said to act as propaganda, giving the impression of worldwide support for the North Korean government. Visitors to the museum are informed that the number of gifts constitute proof of the endless love and respect toward the Great Leader [Kim Il-sung]. However, North Korean visitors to the site are unaware of the ceremonial exchange of gifts in diplomatic protocol, and are described by Helen-Louise Hunter to be impressed by the self-serving explanations offered to them. Another author, Byoung-lo Philo Kim, states that the entire exhibition is aimed at convincing [North] Korean visitors that their leaders are universally admired.

My Trip to North Korea: An Official State Tourism Video - Pyongyang, DMZ, USS Pueblo and more
My Trip to North Korea in September 2007 with 16 other Americans, as filmed by a state videographer.
Description below. Also see items acquired during my trip here:
The group spent several nights at the Yanggakdo Hotel in Pyongyang, with trips to the Kumsusan Memorial Palace (tomb of Kim Il Sung), Kim Il Sung Square, Grand People's Study House, Grand Monument (bronze Statue of Kim Jong Il), Arch of Triumph, Manyongdae, Juche Tower, Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, Manyongdae Children's Palace, USS Pueblo, and Metro. An excursion to Myohyang included the International Friendship Exhibition Hall, Pohyon Temple, and a stay at the Hyangsan Hotel. In place of the gymnastics spectacle known as the Mass Games, canceled due to floods, the tour headed south to Kaesong and the DMZ, including the Friendship Village at Panmumjom.
Although tensions with the DPRK government minders who accompanied tourists at all times flared on occasion, owing to disagreements over the instigation of the Korean War (known as the Fatherland Liberation War in North Korea) and other inadvisable political topics, all US citizens succeeded in departing the DPRK without incident.

Mount Myohyang North Korea ????????
The Mount Myohyang 묘향산 - Mysterious Fragrant Mountain is a mountain in North Korea. It is named after the mystic shapes and fragrances found in the area. It is a sacred site as, according to legend, it was the home of King Tangun, forefather of the Korean people
Myohyang is a North Korean tourist attraction and visited by many national tourists. There are several hiking routes on the mountain. Apart from the view, tourists are attracted by the Pohyon temple, built in the 11th century, the Sangwon hermitage, the Kumgang hermitage. and the Habiro hermitage. The Ryongmun cavern is open to the public.
At Myohyang-san is the International Friendship Exhibition centre, dubbed the world's biggest treasure-house. On exhibit are presents received by North Korean leaders over the years.[3] One building stores the presents given to Kim Il-sung, while a smaller one holds those given to his son Kim Jong-il.
The Hyangsan Hotel caters to luxury visitors, while the Chongchon Hotel is second-class.
